I watched the whole video, Exported OVA from XCP-NG for my .ova file, I did change some of the steps as I wanted my vm on another drive, and it showed I could use format other than raw, so I did not use the --format yet it still converted the drive to RAW, also all my memory and CPU entered were correct. Vm stared and works no issues. I got lucky! Well not just luck, good teaching. Thanks!
Great tutorial. I run into the following issue warning: unable to parse the VM name in this OVF manifest, generating a default value invalid host ressource /disk/vmdisk1, skipping invalid host ressource /disk/vmdisk2, skipping { "disks" : [], "qm" : { "cores" : "4", "memory" : "8192" } } What coul be the problem?
I’ve followed this video tutorial and another you have regarding OVA files and when I start the VM I get “dracut-initqueue[###] timeout” warnings until the console shows entering emergency mode… exit shell to continue…. I’m not sure what this means or how to begin to fix it. I’ve started from scratch several times now to no avail.
@syncbricks how can I tell? I just worked with someone on ProxMox discord and they brought it into their server and had similar results… not sure how to troubleshoot it. This is very “Greek” to me. I know that for how we will use this it will be the same exact process every single time so I just need to get the first one we took off of ESXi to work. We were tasked with replacing older server box running outdated ESXi and upgrading to “latest” version of our vendor provided software with their ova onto a new box. Client didn’t want expensive licensing so we selected ProxMox… just having to cut our teeth on this first one. So if someone can dive in with me to find resolution, it sets us up for success on the next 10-12 boxes we have to replace and update.
I noticed that your VM didn't have a network card installed. I need my VMs to be network reachable for my ethical hacking class. How does your VM connect to the network without a network interface?

Gracias, es un procesos ordenado y claro, con explicaciones adicionales sobre como realizar la importación. Validado en Proxmox 8.2.2
You are welcome great that it worked for you

How does your VM connect to the network without a network interface?
You can use network card as pass through from host machine
nice video!
You are welcome please support this channel
why doesn't it support importing OVA directly from GUI interface like in ESXI, this is very cumbersome...
Because the feature is not demanded
