Good job man👍😉
Thanks bro
For what it is and what you made it from , its very impressive . perfect for the smaller items . Ingenious use of the vice as a tool post carrier . Well done and a good sized video no explaining needed just right. thank you
I made it for a belt sander 6" driven wheel, thanks for watching
Add mass in the bed..like epoxy granite..80% sand / pea gravel..20% expoxy.. or maybe concrete..the heavier it is the better / deeper the cuts can be..
Yes, that's a good idea for future builds!
Along with that it needs to be bolted to a heavy stand that is bolted to the floor or weighs several hundred pounds
Well done mate, can't wait to see this used in your next project.
Thanks mate! I'm planning on making a few videos showcasing it soon!
Good Job!
Have you thought about cutting some donut shape shims out of aluminum beverage cans to use underneath the tool post? This should help raise it to the centerline more precisely and keep it more rigid. Also I bet this lathe could be used to spin metal decently with a couple of added attachments for the tool rest and the right molds.
Haven't thought of that, thanks for your idea.
This is super interesting, simplistic yet functional. I agree with the comment below, you need to weigh that thing down or bolt it down to a heavy table, this will ensure smoother and cleaner cuts. Job well done mate.
As an ordinary person, I personally really liked it, keep creating💪
Thank you! I appreciate that.
FIRE!!!!!!! 👍👍👍. I was researching concrete lathe
Inspirational. I want to make this. Thanks for sharing
Thanks for watching bro

Amazing little build
Top um salve do brasil..Piauí união... parabéns meu amigo!!
Obrigado! Boa sorte!
Nice machine, thanks!
Thanks for watching!
Cool build. Nice one 👍
I would like to know where you purchased this very nice tool post, I saw "machine works" in the video, is this an internet site for amateur machinist ?
Hello it's my design, what I mean is i paid for the machine shop to make that for me.
@@SekAustria ok, I understand,. Your lathe is the simplest diy lathe that I have seen, I will make one for me , thank you very much for the concept.
Thank you

Obrigado!
Muito bom e barato mas não há garantia de que o eixo esteja alinhado com a mesa coordenada.
I will know when I reface something long
Good job you have a hands of god 🙏🏻thanks for sharing 🌷
Thank you for the kind words!
Nice
Nice 👍
Do you sell it?
I like that tensioning system ! but no way I find all those part for 150$ where i live...
Most parts I used are not high end/heavy duty that's why they are so cheap
Hyper COOL 😎😎😎!!!
It should be better if u put the motor on top of that, or maybe down inside right🎉
It would be impressive if you didn't use >$500 worth of machinery to make it. Not to belittle the thing you've created of course, great job - but to someone who doesn't have these tools, and wants to obtain them, the $150 thing is going to draw those people in, and then disappoint them immensely.
Brother will you sent me this from india
You wanna buy it fr0m Sir Sek Austria.?? Contact him f0r the Deal
OOPS - Not 1 but 2 Flange Bearings at $25 each. Wish I could find those prices.
In Spain for all this used parts, you need pay about 1000€, used parts...i think i born in a wrong country...
hi nometoques, have you become a flat earther yet? If not I suggest watching _Level with Me (2023)_ by Hibbeler Productions
You can check online shop if ever there is in your country, then for sure you will find some cheap prices
Whattt?????
Verry basic device. But it works!
👍💪✌
You are prepared for zombie Apocalipsis
😅
Misleading video 😂😂
Great to build something but really not worth it for a lathe. No guarantee any thing is aligned correctly. Further by the time you pay for the chuck and cross slides you are better off getting a cheap new lathe or a second hand one. I could list more but the point is made for anyone who knows how to use a lathe properly.
I appreciate your perspective, it's a great point.
Sometimes people like to try and do things on their own. I have seen many designs that worked well for their purpose. Not everyone needs .001 precision on their home lathe.
Again it depends what they are doing..
Though I did see a missed opportunity to use a pipe instead of the giant solid rod. To allow for longer pieces of materials.
