- F2L stands for First 2 Layers, and it is the second step in the CFOP method for solving the 3x3 Rubik's Cube. It merges the second and third steps of the beginner's method. In this video, I will teach you a simple version of F2L, called 'Intuitive F2L'. Watch this video to learn F2L in 4 minutes!
CORRECTION: I forgot to mention that if the pieces are already not touching, you can skip step 3.

Algorithms:
Inserting an F2L pair into the right: R U' R'
Inserting an F2L pair into the left: L' U L
Once you've identified the two pieces of your F2L pair, here are the six steps that you can use to solve them:
Step 1: Put both pieces into the top layer. You can take a piece out of a slot by inserting two different pieces into the slot, using one of the two algorithms.
Step 2: Make the top colour of the corner match the top colour of the edge. Put the corner above an unsolved slot and do one of the two algorithms. If this algorithm inserts the edge also, do the same algorithm again. If the top colours still don't match, then put the corner above the slot and repeat.
Step 3: Check if the pieces are touching. If they are touching, they may already be paired up. If they are touching but are not paired up, then rotate so you can match the front colour of the edge with the front center. Do U2, then one of the algorithms, with the hand of the side that the corner is on.
Step 4: Move the corner so it is above its correct slot, then do either U or U' so you can still see the white sticker. Then rotate so the corner is in the back.
Step 5: Pair up the pieces. Hide the corner, move the edge to the back, then bring the corner back.
Step 6: Insert the completed pair with one of the two algorithms.

If you find that these steps do not work for a certain case, let me know in the comments below.
Just asking what if they aren’t touching cause you didn’t show that
Then skip the step bc I did that
If they aren't touching, just skip that step. Sorry, I should have made that clearer in the video. I've added the correction to the video description now.

This is actually the easiest f2l tutorial ive ever seen in my whole life. It needs more recognition instead of the tutorial of popular cubers which are as confusing as finding a needle in a haystack.
better than JPerm's tutorial, nice! helped me alot
So true
agreed
I have watched every video and until watching this one, I have been so frustrated about the f2l. This tutorial is better than literally jperms and all the other big channels. This probably doesn’t mean much to you but genuinely thank you so much lol.
Don’t let the low volume fool you after days of watching tutorials and trying myself this finally made me understand f2l
Your fantastic at teaching I’ve been trying to learn f2l for 2 weeks and I learned it from you in five minutes!
this is the first f2l tutorial thats slow enough to follow, thank you so much
This is the best tutorial I could find good job
i watched 3 diffrent vids and this one make me larn f2l
wow super easy to understand and well explained, thank you !
Only tutorial that has helped me. Thanks a ton!
This man saved my life I was telling my friends that I can solve the cube by cfop and I forgot 1 alg so I went to washroom watched the alg and I flexed on my friends thnx
This is amazing. So far the easiest tutorial to follow and understand... just need to figure out some odd cases like I have all corners and edges right except one edge...
For those cases, I like to just use the beginner's method left or right algorithms, or an edge flip algorithm if the edge is in the correct place but has its colors swapped (instead of knocking out its corresponding corner and making an F2L pair).
Thank you so much this vid helped me more then all of the youtubers u kept it simple
Such an easy explanation... I was trying this since one week... Your video made it easier ... Thank you so much 👍😊
Thank you so much! I started solving cube fast a couple weeks ago and I wanted to come back and say thanks!
thanks so much! this is so much easier to understand than the other tutorials and your calm voice stops from getting worked up. i am still a bit confused but will approach it in a few days with a fresh mind.
This is the best for tutorial ever it is so clear and straight forward much better than other TH-camrs❤❤
You are the best at explaining this, i watched multiple videos and understood nothing, thank you man
J perms beginner tutorial was good but your f2l is crazy good
Thank you so much your tutorial is so easy to understand and i learned it after watching this video thank you

Liturly the most simple guide THANK YOU
At first i didnt understand it but then i watched other ones and they were so hard but i tried again and i know it now!
You have an amazing voice and the f2l tutorial was the best ever and helped a lot thanks
THANK YOU SO MUCH
My man’s a live saver 10 out of 10
…oh…my…ACTUAL LORD!!!
Thank you SO MUCH!!!🙏
Thank you bro this made so much more sense how you explained it.
Even tho this video is 3 years old. it still helps me alot!
Bro thank you so much your short tutorial helped me with complicated F2L
You are the best! honestly I was frustrated to the point where I wanted to quit doing this BUT THANK YOU!
nice video! 900th sub!
finally the amazing guide that will make me do f2l
Thanks 😃
Only good f2l explanation on youtube
Thank you 😊
Thank you so much sir! I have been stuck trying to understand f2l, but after watching your video I am able to learn it. Thank you so much!
(Sorry for my bad english
It's my second language😄)
Haha well done and your English is great!
Great Video!!
THANK YOU YOU DID A BETTER JOB THEN J PERM no offense to j perm
frrr
Straight facts
Jperm goes waaaay too quick for people trying to learn.
I totally agree 100%
None of these videos - including this one - are intuitive at all for the transition from beginner to f2l. I've found this to be the case even learning the beginner method. If the teacher cannot explain at the level of the student he is not a good teacher. This goes for most of these tutorials. I have so many questions but none of them are answered here. I have learnt the beginner method from 5 or 6 different videos and have come to see how flawed all of them are in explaining, so I've developed my own logic and explanations to help understand and move around. You are coming from a place of not understanding how the beginner thinks and supposing that some things are known to all.
Thanks a lot 🙏
This was so helpful I’ve been trying so hard to learn f2l and this was so easy!
Bruh you need more subs because this tutorial is so much better than the others! Edit: Is this what pros use?
yea pros use tihs
its called cfop
pros use it to get under 10 seconds
Thanks Blue
This was so helpful thank you 😊
Also, could you please do an OLL tut?
Better than j perm’s guide!!!!!
true thoooo
DA BEST VIDEO FOR f2L! LOVE FORM INDIA
I could actually follow and do this !
broooo you are the oneeeeeeeeee
So easy and nice thx
THANK U UR THE BEST I SUBSCRIBED AND LIKED❤
Best tutorial ever
This is the best Tutorial ever!
No
MY GOD THIS WORKED SO WELL TYSM
why split the pieces at 1:14 if they have already the same color orientation ? i would just move them to the top and reinsert them after like R U' R' and back in but maybe im missing something
So good
Really good tutorial!
I disagree
@@rusoli1047 ok but now I realize it didn't teach as much instead use J perms tuts!
@@masonnovak7258 j perm tutorials *SUCK*
Tysm🎉🎉🎉
which rubiks cube do u use?
Thank you soo much 👍👍
Thx bro
1:40 top of the corner is white...
0:46 you said " you do something like pairing them up" which move or algo is that?
Tysm it was frusturating to learn though
Damn bruh thanks so much I liked and subscribed
I'm having lot of cases where the steps 4 and 5 generate a case of the pieces touching but not paired (when I do the correct U turn it doesn't bring me the edge in 1 move, and when I do the opposite it brings, but once I do step 5, I have non-paired touching pieces
How do I solve that without having to repeat 4-5?
I topped out with beginner method at about 2:30. I want to get to sub-1. It is so frustrating getting so much slower learning the intuitive F2L.
Don't give up! You will eventually get faster as you learn the steps instinctively. If you want to get more efficient with your intuitive F2L, watch my Intermediate F2L video which shortens some of the steps. th-cam.com/video/ga3YLMJroyo/w-d-xo.html
@@EidenCubing finally (I mean after two days) understand intuitive method. Super slow. I will check the video out. Fastest is now 1:40 with beginner and am trying to figure out which algorithms to learn first. Should I learn pll or oll first? PLL has fewer algorithms to memorize but I feel like I gotta learn them all before it becomes useful. Can I just start learning a group of OLL like all the fish or all the lines?
You should start by learning 2-look OLL (7 new algorithms) and 2-look PLL (4 new algorithms). I don't have a video on either, but it's basically to let you do both steps using two algorithms, instead of having to repeat a step to get the yellow on top. I wouldn't recommend learning full PLL and full OLL until you're sub-40.
@@EidenCubing thanks! My f2l is getting as fast as my beginner! I will look for those.
@@EidenCubing I just realized this is the method I learned originally (maybe from rubiks official site?). We then I tried to teach it to my nephew and couldn’t. So I looked up and tried another method that was easier to teach. Then I only practiced that. Hopefully relearning 10 algorithms will be much faster than learning them for the first time.
Tankyou Bery Much!!!!!!
Can you put timestamps in the video please I'm having trouble figuring out where I am in the video
How do i find the two pair in the up i don't get it
Hey could you tell what to do if they are not touching coz I got a couple of cases like that and I have no idea what to do.
On step 4 what happens if the corner and the edge are not opposite of each other ( And ik im 2yrs late but still rep,y)
1:09 take it out while it is in a pair
Thanks, your way better than JPerm at making tutorials. Jperm goes too quick for me
Lol I too came from jperm
Same same

Bruh
same lol
Thank you you help me a lot❤
What is the two pieces aren't touching? Just asking because you didn't show it and I can't do it without them touching
What this cube and price plz
I can’t do it it’s too hard how can I practice this?
Thanks, this was the best f2l tutorial I could find, the other ones were unclear, but yours was very clear!
Well Done Keep Up The Good Work!
Bot
on step 5 the pieces touch but dont pair sometimes
Bro I can not thank you enough
What if the pieces aren’t touching
Ive been able to solve beginners for awhile but it seems no matter how hard i try i cant learn f2l
Can you show a tutorial to be faster?
My f2l pair is not touching
I cant learn it from you because you dont do it slowly
How tf do you pair them up?
Ive been doing it for 3hours and nothing has happend
So much easier to u detest and than the famous you tubers
My brain is too small for this. I legit get 0 percent of this 🤨
do you at least know beginners?
