Finding your sheet music for VLV really has change my life. My piano playing has come on in leaps and bounds, I cannot thank you enough. I was first inspired by several of Katherine C's compositions but I was frustrated because I could not get sheet music for her music. My favourites of hers are Coldplay's "In my place" , and Adele's "Set Fire to the rain" and Skyfall - all absolutely brilliant versions. If you could transcribe one of those pieces I would be over the moon with excitement.

You just need a piano, that's it. The notes? Well, I play the violin and learned the notes from the there (had to for school). I play it by hearing, mostly. You only need practice and practice and you'll get the hang of it. It will actually take less time and cost less than having classes. You don't know how to play by hearing and don't want to learn? Well, I guess you just need to look online or something. It's not really hard to learn how to read music, trust me.

no, learning piano is not only playing song and read note, you need to know how you sit, positioning your hand, how you move your hand,etc. thats if you want to be professional pianist. if you can only play song and read note, you just an amateur. plus, playing piano can increase you IQ. dont hate, i just saying facts, peace :)

In fact, my grandmother did teach me the proper way to sit and position my hands years ago, I'll see if she can help again so I can understand it. I think I should discover for myself because it would be easier to teach myself at my own pace then have someone else teach me at the pace they think I should have.

Practice doing scales in octaves. Octaves are not difficult when you've had sufficient practice. It may take a while but eventually you'll find them easy.

It's nearly impossible, even for someone with huge hands. Play the G# an octave higher instead. It's much easier that way and it won't sound much different

+ Zach May, idk if you're gonna see this but here's some advice. My hands are small too but there's some stretches that help. Put your hands together flat, fingers spread and bend each parallel one individually. As if you were touching a mirror and your finger went through. Do that left and right, then move onto the index finger and so on.

I have piano hands and can stretch a bit over an octave, but my hands slip off the keys a lot accidently
Practice doing scales in octaves. Octaves are not difficult when you've had sufficient practice. It may take a while but eventually you'll find them easy.

It's nearly impossible, even for someone with huge hands. Play the G# an octave higher instead. It's much easier that way and it won't sound much different

+ Zach May, idk if you're gonna see this but here's some advice.
My hands are small too but there's some stretches that help. Put your hands together flat, fingers spread and bend each parallel one individually. As if you were touching a mirror and your finger went through. Do that left and right, then move onto the index finger and so on.
