HUMMINGBIRDS - Incredibly beautiful and colourful

There are at least 360 different species of hummingbirds. Hummingbirds are the smallest migratory birds. The Calliope Hummingbird migrates more than 5000 miles (over 8000 kilometres) each year.
Here are some interesting facts about hummingbirds:
* They are the only birds that can fly backwards.
* Hummingbirds can perch, but cannot hop or walk.
* When they drink nectar, they move their tongues in and out at a rate of about 13 times per second.
* Depending on their species, the hummingbird's heart beats at between 500 and 1260 times per minute.
* They beat their wings about 60 to 80 times per second.
* Each hummingbird visits hundreds of flowers each day.
