Damn I can't stop coming back to this video. Doesn't help that TH-cam recommends it every time I watch any video about anything. I just saw one that was a 73 and was like an off white with black stripes. I love this one the most. Just saw a metallic green with black stripes 70-73 Camaro yesterday and it was beautiful.
When my mom was 17 her dad, my grandfather, restored the same camaro depicted here. They found it in a junkyard it was only 9 years old but it was in bad shape. He is a die hard ford fan and said that would be the only chevy he would ever work on. She still has it to this day in our garage, only needs a little tune up and some paint. Blue with white racing stripes. Beautiful car, only problem is I'm not aloud to drive it!
I thought that the Type LT replaced the rally sport. So I'm thinking Z28 rally sport type LT is a bit much. Either way it's a beautiful second gen Camaro.
@zephead4835 The RS was brought back in '75 while the Z28 disappeared until '77. 70-73 RS cars are easily spotted due to round park lights & split bumpers.
Now here we have a REAL split bumper, congrats,I see all kinds of idiots calling there gen 2 a split bumper but there parking lights are rectangular and below the bumber, not round and above the bumper like yours, beautiful car
if it has the split bumper it has the z22 code or RS option,The Super Sport model was dropped, but it was replaced with the Stylish Type LT model. The Type LT could be ordered with RPO Z28, and if the Rally Sport option was also ordered, you could have a Type LT/RS/Z28 camaro
Any year Camaro always looked ridiculous with a front plate. My front plate is under the front passenger seat of my later model Camaro, never had a front bracket.
That is an awesome automobile I had one just like it blue and all. Now I'm in search of another one. It has to be the right car though 350 cubic inch with a 4-speed. I know it's out there I just have to find it! LOL
@@joefox126 Hi Joe, that sounds like a very cool car! I'd be interested in learning more. Best way to communicate for me is by email... please send any and all pictures you can to Mail@MyRod.com . Thanks!
My first cousin had one in back in 1983. I thought was going to be mine--lol! It was so beautiful! However it was kinda candy apple red...not sure the color Chevy called it. The LT means it has the upgraded LT-1 Motor with better heads and cam.
Glad the original tranny was kept! Tremec truly is an upgrade, the Ancient Egyptians knew about mechanical advantage, sad auto makers did not utilise overdrive earlier. All that sound insulation and LT package=unnecessary weight on an already heavy car. Does that hood close better?
Like the interiors of the LT. Funny thing is nobody cared about nor wanted an LT for many yrs it wasnt "a real camaro" guys would say. Now due to high prices all of a sudden unwanted cars are rare and $$. Funny how that works. Ck the date code on those tires, gotta be ancient!!
From everything I have studied about 1973 triple option Z28s, they came with no Z28 badges and stripe delete . I would love to see the cowl tag on this incredible car
Thanks, and yes they are a fun drive. For me, I like the 2nd Generation Camaro. I tried looking it up years ago, how many were made with those specs. with no success. Maybe you will have better luck or better connections to find out..lol
Correction I'm not a fan of taking that Muncie out and putting in a Tremec that M21 is five times the transmission that new one is just my opinion I'm old school like the car should be
remember, they changed the way horsepower was rated around 1975. Add about 80 hp to the 170 and this is the rating pre 1975. I own a 1979 4 speed that I bought new and modified the restrictive exhaust and cam and it moves out just fine. 3.73 rear end and no weight adding items like AC.
I can't stop watching videos of this car. That is absolutely the most beautiful 2nd generation Camaro I've ever seen. That blue/black combo is killer!

I had a 73 Camaro RS Type LT. I remember more upgraded woven fabric seating. These look like standard Camaro seats.
Mine did as well.
Questa concessionaria è eccezionale macchine fantastiche complimenti.... Gente seria!!
Beautiful. All but the rubber.
If 73 & 74 are the only years to get LT Z28 options then 73 stands alone with the LT, RS & Z28 options. Great looking ride.

Damn, that is super nice! I love that blue. As much as I don't like stripes, those look great on it. Very beautiful car!

Beautiful car. I wish you would of popped the hood. I would love to see the engine.....
The 3 piece wrap around rear spoilers are the way ALL the 2nd gen Camaro's shud be!!
You don't like the smaller, trunk mounted spoiler on the 1970 Camaro? I like the larger one too though.
Beautiful car! Love the color! You just don't see that color on 2nd generation Camaro's! 😎😁👍

Putting a license plate on the front always ruin the look of these beautiful cars .

thanks ... of all the cars I had, this may have been the best experience behind the wheel. Ugh, I miss it.
the 70.5 Z is the best of the 70 camaro's

Another flip job. How about that door jamb hardware? Sweeeet.
Has an earlier grille, too. Who knows whats original anymore.
Id think deluxe interior would be cloth
Outstanding !
I love this car, wonder how much it cost ?

Wrong. The LT option was a luxury package NOT anything to do with the engine. In fact the LT1 was gone by 1973. Last year they offered it was 1972.
Lol thats not what L T means at all as a matter of fact most L.Ts later on in the 70s came w a 305
Lt has nothing to do with the engine. All 73 Z-28 came with a 350 245 hp. I know I still have mine. Ordered it from the factory
Glad the original tranny was kept! Tremec truly is an upgrade, the Ancient Egyptians knew about mechanical advantage, sad auto makers did not utilise overdrive earlier. All that sound insulation and LT package=unnecessary weight on an already heavy car. Does that hood close better?

my best frind bought one exactiy likee this in 77/ we raced the you know what out of it /he was a rich farmkid in iowa didnt appreciate nothing
If only we could go back and snag it
a beauty
where is your shop id like to see this car
From everything I have studied about 1973 triple option Z28s, they came with no Z28 badges and stripe delete . I would love to see the cowl tag on this incredible car
+Jim McCune ive seen tripple optioned 73 camaros without the type LT badge thats right before the window but then some had it.
+ericou812 The badges could have been removed? The first 5 vin on a TypeLT Z28 will be 1S87T a standard non LT will be 1Q87T.
You are so correct Jim McCune.
It’s also got the incorrect front grills. That is a 70-71 only grill. 6 vertical rows of openings per side. The 72-73 only had 4 rows per side.
My friend's car did not have stripes or Z28 badges.
"Dark metallic blue... "
I wouldn't call it dark.
No Z-28 decal on rear spoiler?
And while cloning this car we forgot to black out the grill oops
How many did they make with all 3 packages (Z28/RS/Type LT1)? Do you know? I had a 73 RS myself always regretted selling it
I'll have to check. It was truly an awesome ride!
Thanks, and yes they are a fun drive. For me, I like the 2nd Generation Camaro. I tried looking it up years ago, how many were made with those specs. with no success. Maybe you will have better luck or better connections to find out..lol
About 1600?
It's called Type LT not LT option
I was in 1st grade 1973.
If real it’s super rare. 73 was the strike year and production runs were very low.
No the strike year was 1972 not 1973.
@@coop4274 I stand corrected. I googled it and it was 72
Correction I'm not a fan of taking that Muncie out and putting in a Tremec that M21 is five times the transmission that new one is just my opinion I'm old school like the car should be
what's the horsepower ??? ... my 1978 Z-28 with the stock 350c.i. engine only had 170 hp !!!
The 73 Z28 was 245 horsepower. I owned three.
remember, they changed the way horsepower was rated around 1975. Add about 80 hp to the 170 and this is the rating pre 1975. I own a 1979 4 speed that I bought new and modified the restrictive exhaust and cam and it moves out just fine. 3.73 rear end and no weight adding items like AC.
Horsepower ratings were changed from "gross" to "net" in 1972.
@@rorilovita8150 Compression went down, so power was obviously reduced as well, regardless of wether it was Net or Gross HP.
Underbart att se.
Oh and by the way air cond, comes with the lt package oops
It’s got a 1970 front end.
The RS split bumper nose was available 70-73.
The close mesh grill was ONLY 1970 & 1971. This grill is not correct but looks better than what it came with.
you think my 1973 type LT with 20 k original miles is worth something???just like this one
Are you trying to sell? If so, send us more info at Mail@MyRod.com and I can respond. Thanks!
😍🤙💙💙💙🎨

Sweet!
My was exactly as this one,
