You know why you are starting to get so many subscribers? It's because you are one of the view metalheads on youtube that is not being an etilist or a windbag. Keep the horns up man \m/
You're listening to the wrong punk bands. You need to listen to the hardcore punk bands like Dead Kennedys, Descendents, Black Flag, and Bad Brains, much better than the Ramones
I want to see Death so so bad too! And Savatage! Those are like two of my solid favorite metal bands. My favorite patch on my vest is the Scream Bloody Gore cover and I can't wait to get a Savatage one
I never really comment, but I thought I'd leave a comment in case you happened to read it. You're the first youtuber that talks about metal that I watch, and one of three that I actually regularly get excited to see videos from. You have a really good personality and way of presenting your topics and it makes them interesting and keeps my attention. It also helps that I'm local, because, as an example, I was at the Amon Amarth concert you reviewed. Anyways, I just thought I'd let you know I really enjoy your videos!
Just stumbled across your channel, I love how you respect the fans of bands genres etc. , that you aren't personally a fan of, because I can't stand metal elitists who bash the fans of shit they don't like. Anyways, great channel, keep up the awesome videos! Rock on my fellow Canadian metalhead \m/
some bands are expensive but when you think about it has to be quality over quantity. id rather pay for something that i know is guna be good rather than pay small amount of money for 4 bands and them may or may not be very good
If you're learning guitar, do learn to read music. It'll save you so much trouble in the future, as will music theory if you have the time for that. I recently joined a prog metal band and I'm working with some exceptionally talented musicians, but they never learned to read music, so any time we learn a new song we have to go riff by riff. I don't mean to sound pretentious, I just wish the ability to read notation weren't so undervalued in almost every "popular" genre. It saves so much time and energy when trying to learn new music. On a side note, do you listen to any tech death like Decapitated? It seems up your alley given your preference for faster, heavier, more extreme music.
im gonna take a wild guess and say Toronto? just cuz like everywhere else (atleast in north America), biggest concentration of metalheads is in cities.
BMW,there's a way around the paying $100.00 for a concert ticket... you could buy the ticket through the venue Which is the best way to go... Six years ago ,I paid $30.00 for a general admission ticket at a local venue ...I saw 4 bands that night.. or I would've had I stuck around for seven dust
Referring to your "having a band comment": would you be ok with taking turns "having your way". For instance, if you made something, all your band mates followed your vision as to what you would like the song to be, but if your band mate made something, you would follow along with what they want their song to be like?
How do you take care of your hair in general? I'd like to know because I also have long hair and I think yours looks amazing. Also how tall are you? (preferably in metric units)
gutturals are fairly easy to learn, but hard to master... if it helps you, you should do sports and breathing exercises. (but im too lazy, but when I do it helps a lot!) really try to do voice warmups (just look up tenor scale, or song along to clean shit) if you really sing along 10min before screaming/growling its soo helpfull. hope it is usefull :)
I might be late to the party but if you like Motorhead and can't seem to find a punk band you like, can I suggest the Plasmatics (I haven't heard you mention them in a video yet)? There's a (not-so-high-quality) video on TH-cam where the band plays Jailbait with Lemmy and together, the bands did the Stand By Your Man EP. And Wendy O'Williams' ability to go from rough rally calls in A Pig Is a Pig to soft and kind of melancholy for Summer Nite is pretty cool :)
The Misfits are my favorite band, but I respect your opinion. you're still kick ass. I can't keep a band because I'm a perfectionist, so I feel your pain, brother. that's why I do all by myself.
I discovered your channel late, but have been following you on Instagram for years now. You're pretty awesome! Also the Ramones and The Misfits are terrible excuses for punk, I recommend Leftover Crack, Choking Victim, Aus Rotten and Conflict!
hey dude. I've watched you for about to week and you are hella fucking awesome man. i love your videos and like your views. keep on making videos dude.
Since you haven't gotten into The Misfits, have you ever listened to Glenn Danzig's 2nd band Samhain? Many people consider that band to bridge the gap between The Misfit's punk rock and Danzig's heavy metal. If you want to listen to them, I'd suggest starting with their 3rd album "November Coming Fire."
I'm a lot like you with the whole band thing and having a vision. But guttural vocals aren't too hard to learn. Just whenever you're doing stuff that doesn't require a lot of effort just keep trying. And remember it's all in the tongue placement.
Good point about ticket prices. I was right up front for a triple header of Down, Megadeth and Black Sabbath with Dio, and I only paid $65. A year or two later, Van Halen was in town and wanted something like $200, with no other acts, and fuck that. For some bands to think they're worth that much money is downright egotistical.
"I don't have any fucking talent" Same. Same. I just hang around people that are in bands and my boyfriend is a drummer. Just nice to hang around in the scene but not be balls deep in it
I appreciate you putting the question into multiple videos because The Amazing Atheist's question videos are sometimes up to an hour and a half long, plus he answers questions completely randomly so it may be something really dumb like "What's your favorite sandwich?", that length for tat is really annoying!
I agree so much on Death and Savatage! Savatage is my absolute favourite band but yeah, they kinda quit. Black Sabbath is about to quit, Pantera quit, etc... Bathory only did some concerts in the eighties and don't exist anymore since Quorthon's death. Dio is another example and I can go on like this forever. So many great bands gone mate. Sucks. But luckily there are still a lot of great bands out there!
Some neat punk albums: Fear-The Record, Dead Kennedys-Fresh Fruit for Rotting Vegetables, NoMeansNo-Wrong, Neurosis-The Word as Law, Corrosion Of Conformity-Eye For An Eye, Eyehategod-Dopesick, Husker Du-Zen Arcade, Bad Religion-Against the Grain. Most of these aren't pure punk, but personally I like the stuff that's influenced by punk more than a lot of the original punk bands, I have a feeling It'd be similar for you.
I think most of us have got the "are you in a band" question many times, and if you play any instrument ha ha. Saw Iron Maiden last week and after the show I met a guy from my hometown that play in a black metal band, Nidhöggr, and I would probably be in it if I could play any instrument since there apparantly are few local musicians. Now they are scattered around Sweden and im not even sure that everyone that recorded the debut album are left. Small towns are not good for bands ha ha ha.
What do you think of the black metal community's (mostly the "trve kvlt" people) unwillingness for evolving black metal's sound and acknowledging bands that are changing it like for example An Autumn of for Crippled Children and Deafheaven. It seems to me that all the other more extreme genres are more positive about evolving sound for example already in the 90s Atheist was bringing jazz fusion to death metal.
when I was like 10 my younger sister and other family members younger than me watched the black lagoon and later when it was dark played a game based on it :P
well you can see Death DTA, death musicians playing the songs without the singer, with Steve DiGiorgio on bass I would kill to see that band live, but I live in a whole other part of the world
I just found your channel and thought you looked familiar and then saw you were from Ontario, did you see Blind Guardian in Toronto in October 2015? Because I'm so sure I saw you there
I wish you would like punk but to each their own. The Ramones and Misfits are some of my favorite bands. I have some suggestions if you'd like. You listen to Danzig at all?
Do you think that it's reasonable to spend $200 for Guns N Roses tickets? I ended up getting an upgrade on the seats at the concert and I got field seats that are worth like twice the price for free :D
I've been told I have a lot of talent for the guitar. However, I never practiced and so my skills never improved. Natural talent only goes so far if you don't strive to be better. People who have zero talent for something but practice are much better than talented people who don't.
Man, I really enjoyed the video. I'd like to see some kind of collaboration video as well. I'd say that I'd do one with you, but I have no idea what we'd talk about.
Have you heard of the New Zealand horror movie, Deathgasm?? It's literally a horror movie about metal. It's a mix of kind of gory and sort of weird, pretty freaking funny too and I definitely recommend it.
Since you're from Ontario you've probably heard of Billy Talent. They are probably my favourite punk band. There's also a punk rock band from Finland called Cherry & The Vipers that I love, but if you don't like punk much then you might not like them. Oh, and I managed to have enough money to travel to the States for a show. It was $80 with a meet and greet and it was amazing! So I'd say if you can do that kind of thing, you should. :-)
You know why you are starting to get so many subscribers? It's because you are one of the view metalheads on youtube that is not being an etilist or a windbag. Keep the horns up man \m/
Your hair is beautiful! Don't ever cut it!
You should collaborate with Jhoff, he also lives in 🇨🇦

Hey, just wanted to say I recently subscribed to your channel and really enjoy your content. Keep up the good work, mate!
I want to see Death so so bad too! And Savatage! Those are like two of my solid favorite metal bands. My favorite patch on my vest is the Scream Bloody Gore cover and I can't wait to get a Savatage one
Lordi are playing my city towards the end of the year and I'm so excited! I do live in the UK though. Maybe they'll tour your way soon?
Awesome video. I've been checking your channel almost every hour for this one.

For next Q & A: What you think about Sabaton?
Miikka Välimäki My very first metal band!!!! Although I didn't know it at the time
Miikka Välimäki why don't you ask me the question?

I saw Death last year even though Chuck died. They had a replacement singer who actually did a really good job.
How do you take care of your hair in general? I'd like to know because I also have long hair and I think yours looks amazing. Also how tall are you? (preferably in metric units)

Which metal-related channels do you recommend? :)
Question: How do you convince someone that metal is not satanic?
for good punk band I recommend is Acidez. good band from Mexico with good thrash elements to them cannot get enough of their music.
I might be late to the party but if you like Motorhead and can't seem to find a punk band you like, can I suggest the Plasmatics (I haven't heard you mention them in a video yet)? I've been waiting for you to do a Q&A and I got you a question: What is your opinion on Volbeat? Please answer. Keep up the good work.
Have you tried crust punk or d-beat?
I love this channel and everyone is so nice XD

Whats your favorite character in Regular Show?
Hey werewolf. Wen it comes to practicing it does take but get better. But u will get better. Keep rockin
I found u random and...I have no words :D You are just AWESOME ;)
I appreciate you putting the question into multiple videos because The Amazing Atheist's question videos are sometimes up to an hour and a half long, plus he answers questions completely randomly so it may be something really dumb like "What's your favorite sandwich?", that length for tat is really annoying!
Have you listened to the Dead Kennedy's? They're my favorite punk band that isn't crossover thrash.
How about starting with The Stooges?? and then The Damned then The Wipers
+Doodle your exam paper The Stooges man, fucking awesome band
the stooges were the first punk band..not metal..
I'd hate to burst your bubble..but iggy pop admitted it himself... He couldn't sing
Tool's coming to my area in october and they want $300 plus for decent seats..shits crazy now that no one buys music
I agree so much on Death and Savatage! Savatage is my absolute favourite band but yeah, they kinda quit. Black Sabbath is about to quit, Pantera quit, etc... When you have the funds maybe come to Graspop. You 'd love it here in Belgium :)
Bro, I got the same problem with trying to learn guitar. Work gets in the way of a lot of things.
Watching this in 2020 after you collaborated with jhoffilms. Rock on dude!!
I saw Fear live, they opened for Alice Cooper and Misfits. Great old school Punk band!
thanks for answering my question
7:20 Which Misfits album?

if you do another Q&A video
..my question is. would you like symphonic power metal after listening to it?
Awesome Death shirt man!
Don't know if you've been asked this question but what would be your top 10 favorite metal bands and a song from each band?
What do you think of the black metal community's (mostly the "trve kvlt" people) unwillingness for evolving black metal's sound and acknowledging bands that are changing it like for example An Autumn of for Crippled Children and Deafheaven. If I remember correctly, Lordi is going to be playing at a festival I'll be going to this summer. Should I go to see them just for the hell of it?
I would if I were you. apparently their stage show is pretty cool and worth it
What do you think about Electric Wizard. Not really a huge metal guy but I fucking love these guys.
Do you think heavyness is in the riffs ??
Or you think the guitar/bass has to be downtuned to sound heavier ?
*heaviness. Spelling is hard.

what is your current favourite heavy metal band
I wish you would like punk but to each their own. The Ramones and Misfits are some of my favorite bands. I have some suggestions if you'd like. You listen to Danzig at all?
I saw Abbath in Las Vegas Nevada
What's your favourite black metal band?
I want to see Slipknot and behemoth....they are touring together and the tickets are so expensive!
The only reason why I didn’t go to this gig was because of the price
You might want to try hardcore punk. Give Black Flag, Negative Approach, Bad Brains, or Minor Threat a try

Death Magnetic and Hardwired are two great comeback albums.
so sad to see Jason on only *one* album before the incident
Hell yeah death shirt ftw
Question, have you ever seen metalocalypse ? if not please give it a try! I think you'll like it.

If punk is difficult for you to get into i'd recommend Stray From The Path. They're hardcore punk.
I've written quite a few song lyrics but I'm keeping them secret in case my self teaching of guitar is succesful and I start a band
Would u consider interviewing bands u like and spot lighting their music?
