To calculate beta manually:
Collect Data: Obtain historical prices for the stock and market index (e.g., S&P 500) and calculate their returns.
Calculate Mean Returns: Find the average return for both the stock and the market.
Calculate Covariance: Determine the covariance between the stock and market returns.
Calculate Market Variance: Compute the variance of the market returns.
Compute Beta: Use the formula.
In question 1 , the first option is also equally appropriate why then 2nd option ??
Dear, Option 1 is not the right answer, futures contracts are traded on exchange not forwards.
