Great Tutorial! I have been using Flashprint 5 up till now and although I like it, it is limited. I downloaded Orca and took one look and was intimidated. Your video has made Orca as easy as FP5. Thank you. You have earned a subscriber!
Glad it was helpful!
Another awesome guide! Got OrcaSlicer going with my new 5M and being able to send print jobs from my Mac over wifi is great! This whole series on the 5M has been a gold nugget of info - thanks for making these videos.
This ❤️
Thank you very much for helping new owners of FF Adventurer 5M
My pleasure!
@@FigureFeedback Sorry - do you know the start gcode of the models built into the printer? The support service hides it.
Thank you for this information. Ive been having a hard time finding any help with this printer and orca slicer. This helped me so much. Thank you!
Saving me a lot of research time! Thank you again!
Is there a way to add the measuring icon to the top tool bar? I am trying to figure out how to measure in the updated slicer
Any tips on how to make my supports more easy to remove and also avoiding the supports from sticking and leaving scars on the models?
Hi do you know where to set the bed temp my flashforh is pre set to 50 when I need it to be at 65 for good adhesion and I could do it on the printer itself however it sometimes will automatically go back to 50 ??
Great video, per usual. Your stuff with the A5M is always very helpful.
One thing that people seem to take for granted is people understanding why Orcaslicer is better than Flashprint. I've been using Flashprint since I bought the A5M, and it's pretty much done the job I need/want it to do. What does Orcaslicer have that Flashprint doesn't, what makes it better, etc. It'd be great to see a breakdown of what Orcaslicer can do that Flashprint cannot do.
If you know of anyone that has done a comparison video between them feature-wise?
Bro nobody cares how good flashprint is if it literally can’t even detect the printer like🤦
Well new comers super duper frustrating
Thanks!
Thank you very much!
Lovely video ,new to printing, just got the printer thanks to your guides...., you mention that lowering layer height will lower the speeds, i mainly wanna print minis and figures, but they always kinda fail. Don't i need to change speed printings accelerations and stuff to achiece something better or just the layer height willl do th e best speeds for me?
Lowering your layer height and decreasing the speed will help with accuracy and the preservation of smaller details. Since you want to do minis, I would also suggest getting the 0.25mm nozzle which will allow you to print at even lower layer heights than the standard 0.4mm nozzle.
You’re my go to when I look for 3d printing tips lol never going to no other channel. Very simple and well explained man lol
Wow, thanks a lot!
The 2.0 RC version supports wireless printing to these printers.
Great video! One question, I’ve been trying to use Orca Slicer for my AM5 but the printing times are a lot longer when compared to the Flashprint print times. I’ve tried to match the settings as much as possible but still get way higher print times. Is there a way around this? I really like the additional features Orca uses.
That's very odd. If the settings are the same, the print times shouldn't be that different. I would double check to see if you're using the built-in 5M profile in Orcaslicer as well as the same nozzle sizes, filament types and layer heights for both slicers.
Did you ever figure this out?
Having the same issue
5M only have standard file profile. No extra files like fine or fast.
One thing I found with wireless printing it doesn’t have the level check box on the printer like using a usb stick. So far checking that box has made a difference w the few prints I’ve done so far.
That's true for me as well. I like to manually level before every print. I wonder if there's a gcode command to force auto leveling every time.
It is not letting me connect through wifi, I have the 2.0 RC downloaded aswell, any help?
contect in flashprint first
Have you gotten the remote printer control to work through Orca? I'm able to send files and print using the IP address but the device window says that the IP refused to connect. I'd like to be able to monitor prints with an camera through the slicer.
I haven't been able to remotely control the printer in Orca beyond sending prints. But you can connect a webcam to the printer via USB and monitor it through a web browser. Type the following link into your browser, and insert your printer's IP address where I've indicated and it should work. your printer's IP:8080/?action=stream

@@FigureFeedback I've tried this and it says the site can't be reached "my ip" refused to connect. Would there be anything I have to change in my network settings to get this to work? Appreciate your response.
@@ReeceMacDonaldDaBallerI believe it's in the 2.0 release but under the Host Type drop down menu there should be an option of Flashforge. Select it and then enter the ip address of the printer.
