  • India is known for its jugaad of its people. When it comes to saving money by being Jugaadu, nobody pulls it off better than we do. We're capable of coming up with weird but workable fixes to make our lives easier like this Bihar man did. A mechanic cum artist in Bihar’s Bagaha thought of a Jugaad and decided to convert his Tata Nano car into a helicopter. It’s the wedding season in India and many brides and grooms, who can't afford expensive helicopters, have already booked this Tata Nano helicopter for grand entries at their wedding venues. As per our sources, a resident of Bagaha Guddu Sharma has turned a Nano car into a helicopter by spending over Rs 2 Lakh. Guddu said that he had seen the huge demand for helicopters during weddings and many people would have wished to bring their bride home to chariots, but due to money problems, they can't afford it. Seeing all this, Guddu turned his car into a helicopter that can be affordable for everyone. Guddu Sharma, who gave the car the shape of a helicopter, said, in the era of Digital India, this invention is a living example of self-dependent India. Apart from the outer appearance, he used sensors to give desired features to the vehicle and rented it for Rs. 15,000 per wedding. Unsurprisingly, there is a huge demand for his Nano-turn helicopter for wedding purposes and he acknowledges that he is not the first person to do so.
Another man, Mithilesh Prasad, from Chhapra in Bihar, modified his Tata Nano car into a helicopter to achieve his childhood dream of designing a helicopter. It took him seven months to complete the project. Though the modified car cannot fly, it has features of a conventional helicopter-like main rotor, tail boom and tail rooter. Prasad has also fitted colourful LED lights in its rotors and side panels. He invested Rs 7 lakh in the project.
Like India, some Jugaadu are also present in other countries too.
A Brazilian man has used parts from scrapped cars to build a helicopter that actually flies. Yes, you heard that right. A chopper made with discarded car parts and reportedly powered by a Volkswagen Beetle's engine was seen flying. Our country is number 1 in the case of Jugaad. People here have the ability to do a lot with very few resources. Earlier, a man from Maharashtra managed to build a four-wheeler jeep using scrap metal that impressed Anand Mahindra, the founder of Automobile giant Mahindra. Despite having little education, Dattatraya Lohar built the vehicle to fulfil his son's wishes. The four-wheeler was made with an investment of just Rs 60,000 and incorporates the kick-start mechanism that is typically seen in two-wheelers. What do you think about these Jugaad? Do mention your thoughts in the comment section below.
