Oh you American boys just have so much awesome toys.. :D I myself, as a Finn and a reservist, I'm looking forward on test firing the coming Sako M23 piston-ar made right here in Finland.
I've had the 6.5" dissent MKG 9mm for while now. It's awesome, it's compact, accurate, reliable, cheap to shoot. I put a holosun,, folding brace & wolfman can on it. Super fun & quiet, perfect backpack accessory
The dissent is a cool line. But CMMG is way out of line with their pricing, this should be a $1000 to 1500 rifle, not a 2000 to 2500 one. That's approaching HK or KAC territory, and CMMG is most definetly not that...
HK and KAC aren't worth that kind of money either... some guys (apparently you) are just too stupid to figure that out. Same guys who buy SIG products I guess.
8.6 Blackout strong side is that it can be made into an 308 with just change barrel with 1 in 3 twist - same bolt and magazine as before and easy to suppress. If you go for lever action you can choose any caliber if you can get that fast twist rate done.
@@Nozzredyou'd probably have limited selection of bullets as the lever gun feeds from a tube that can detonate primers. And most 8.6 is solid copper projectiles. I'd forgo the headache and have a break barrel single shot. 😅
ARs really aren't direct impingement, the bolt itself is the piston. True DI uses a simple tube blowing gas into a blind hole to make the action cycle.
The rifle program that gave us the 6.8 sig spear, I'd have preferred they would have gone 6mm small platform in a buffer less DI like the Dissent. Something under 7lbs.
THEy wouldn't have gotten the kickbacks SIG uses to buy all their contracts with then... SIG products are GARBAGE, end of story. They're like the DEI hire of the gun world.

@@tacticutelife I know it's going to be expensive at first but I wonder about the 338 Arc. I was intrigued by the 338 spectre years ago but it never went anywhere

Hey Tim, please correct if I'm wrong, but I thought you couldn't put the CMMG 7.62X39 upper on a standard AR-15? Or perhaps I misunderstood your comments. Thank you.
I've been wondering about the bolt heads... I see CMMG does a 6.5 Grendel (and 6arc... meh) and I was really hoping it would use an upsized bolt head. That's really cool... now if they would just make one with an AK mag lower on a 6.5 Grendel upper... I might just have to buy one.
I'm probably wrong and please correct me but I thought what made the decent/mutant what it is was the lower taking AK mags so why is the other calibers in more traditional ar mags. ??
😂I Started with the FAL and the piston really did not bother me at all And when I whent to the 180 Even less from the FAL still my opinion on the booth 😮

It clearly was a ammo related so there is no way you can blame the design. Also who tf are you shooting at underwater?

Tim, you said you feel DI systems have a softer recoil compared to short stoke pistons. I disagree. Because to me, the piston uppers I have are softer recoiling than when they were DI uppers. But to each their own [opinion]. That disagreement or differing opinion aside, do you feel that dual recoil springs alone makes a huge difference in recoil compared to an AR with a buffer spring? Never mind. lol Watched another few minutes and you answered my question explaining/stating the less mass. That makes a lot of sense. Now I want one! lol
While I love CMMG and love the DISSENT…it should be recognized that the short stroke gas piston will remain functional FAR LONGER than the DISSENT. Owning both in multiple calibers, the DISSENT bolts needs to be removed and oiled OFTEN will shooting suppressed. The SIG will go much longer before it requires removal and oil.
What do you mean it "needs to be removed and oiled OFTEN while shooting suppressed"? Like every 100 rounds it starts malfunctioning? Every 500 ish? Every 1000ish?
These calibers pack some serious punch, and it's great to see innovation in platforms that can handle both with precision.
I would definitely love to see a comparison video between the DD, Descent, and the M7 all in 308 of course
