I loved Celine Dion and Andrea Bocelli when they sang it and when she sang with Josh Groban, but Pentatonix brings it into a whole new dimension. I love it. I have listened to it over and over. Their harmony is outstanding.
That chromatic slide up from Mitch at the end was fabulous! Stunning work from every single one! Grammy worthy arrangement! I was given tickets to their Evergreen Christmas Concert in Dallas Dec 23. I Cannot. Wait!!!!!
Stunning. Absolutely stunning. We need more baritone Scott.....Italian or not. This song was written by David Foster and Carol Bayer Sager for the 1998 animated movie, “Quest for Camelot” and performed by soprano Celine Dion and tenor Andrea Bocelli, backed by a full orchestra. Pentatonix gives us their five beautiful a cappella voices in this beautiful upgrade. Thanks for your great reaction.....more PTX please!
Sonja is absolutely correct - but what isn't obvious is that the words changed somewhat from the movie. In the soundtrack, the heroine's mother is praying for her daughter to find grace and a safe place. So rather than "give US grace" it is "give HER grace" - and so on.
The cool thing is that if you don't want to get too into the Christmas spirit yet, so many songs on their Christmas albums are not Christmas! Great reaction!
They work so incredibly well together, and Kevin’s beatboxing is truly beyond amazing! I love how there’s no showboating, from any of them. They are a truly perfect group of singers.
Loved it! If anyone involved in this doesn’t have a Grammy by this time next year, they may consider themselves unlucky. I mean everyone: the fab five (of course), the videographers, lighting guys, wardrobe and make-up artists. Everyone!
Scott really is a baritone, even if he usually sings tenor in their 4-part arrangements (with Kirstie and Mitch alternating on soprano and alto, and Matt on the bass ... and Kevin's excellent percussion). But is tone is lovely here. PTX "Wall of Sound" in the middle! Yeah, their video production team is sooo good.
Just before the song released, Scott and Kevin had live streams where they took questions and both said that this was one of the most difficult/challenging arrangements they'd ever done. And, it shows - it's stunning. Glad you enjoyed it as much as I did. I'm all in for more PTX Christmas (and I subscribed to hear it!)

Both of her versions are my all time favorites but their version is a very close second and I have it on repeat as well.
