Just picked this up for my GF on AT&T. She had a 8330 a few years ago that she loved. I tried to talk her out of it. I wanted her to get an Android phone but she hates touchscreens. Considering it was only $30 it's pretty awesome. I was playing with it for the few hour and was very surprised. I've had an iPhone for the last 4 years and thought RIM was past it's prime. They just do things differently. I found it to be a nice change. I would definitely recommend it, especially for $30.
@kaasman43 I would say go with the new curve. Its pretty much better or equal in every single way spec wise, better processor, same display, memory, OS7, etc. Although it might feel a bit cheaper and lighter than the 9780, still there is a pretty big speed bump that you can notice just scrolling through the OS.
@AgentPig007 ..I also want to buy 9360..plz tell me about the camera as it does not have autofocus..how is d overall performance of the phone..is it btr than bold 9780?????
@vickymhamer Well in terms of specs and such, and the things that you're looking for, you should probably get the Cliq II. Just because it has a physical keyboard (good for texting), moto blur (good for facebook, twitter, youtube, and just about any other), and its packing a 1Ghz processor to pack all of those together. Plus, it doesn't have too much of a shabby display. I recommend the Cliq II. Unless, you want perfect email, plus bbm, in that case go for the 9360. Otherwise, go for the cliq II
I don't understand this touch screen fascination on these devices. My mum has the 1st gen torch and I didn't like the touch screen on it and found it to be a bit of a novelty and gimmicky feature. Then I tried the bold 9900 and found, again, the touch screen to be nothing more than a novelty. I still used the pad and keyboard more than I did the touch screen. saying that I can't wait to get my hand on this device. Will be a welcome upgrade to my ageing curve.
reading the comments here, what most people do not understand..............is personal preference. I just do not do a lot of web browsing on my phone...I dont have time for it, or a need for it. I use it occasionaly, and more so, use my phone to make calls(novel idea for a phone to make calls), text and email.....and pandora radio, and some other things.....BB is perfect for me. Have had EVO, Nexus S, and going back to this new curve...this week.
my experience of android is this... its like a toy... and most touchscreens are horrific.... I love my 9900... the best of everything.........IOS is also a toy.... aaron is soo on the ball... the 9360 has an amazon music store on it.... well done aaron spot on with your review
I still like my BlackBerry, I think I'll Probably upgrade to a newer one as well! I also know that there are 30 people in my college group and 25 of them have BlackBerry's! Everyone I know has them!
Im an android guy but also still like BBerry. Im using a 9780 on tmo now. One thing about BB that I like is that you can use the lower 200MB data plan because BB's are not data hogs. They are data sippers. (Think 40mpg :P) Saves you money each month. You can do this with android too but android eats 200MB in like 2 days. Plus I love this small form factor.
IMO, this review is a little pessimistic, the curve 9360 is extremely light, small, and thin, which is a bigger deal than many think. Also, there is an alt-zoom feature in the browser that is very easy to use, which was missed.
@mzhr72 the camera is not focused.. The picture rumbles and its 5 mega somethin. When ipod cameras are likw 8 somethin (100% not sure) blackberry.. I prefer texting and call.. Not camera or youtube.. Its pretty difficult or not comfortable.. In my opinion
@iheyizz7059 I want the phone for everyday purpose..listening to music,FB,BBM,text messaging, which 1 of the two has a better battery life and whose operating system is btr and what is the video recording resolution of bold9780????
@xJT96x It's the same in Jamaica, mainly for third world countries like some in the caribbean, they can't afford to pay the bill for an iPhone, so they go with the cheapest option, and BB being all they can afford, they go with that, even though they break down ever so often, and the screens are so tiny, and don't get me started on apps and features, BB is seriously lacking in that department.
@strikerm70 i own a android phone as well.....whats your point? like i said, lots of people use bb for many reasons. if they are dead, then why are they still making sales and have a large population of bb users???
Hi everyone, it was my birthday last week and I was meant to choose a phone to get! But I need help on what to get - dont want an expensive phone, just something for music...texting... facebook etc :) Was thinking of getting HTC wildfire S but friends told me not to, how good is this phone?? Please help me out ; HTC Wildfire S, Blackberry Curve 9360 or anything else ?? THANKYOU
.hello..I am from India....I want to buy a Blackberry smartphone...please tell me which 1 is btr BB Bold3 9780 or BB curve 9360..as curve features BB OS 7 and Bold features BB OS 6.which one is btr of the two for taking photos as curve does not have auto focus...kindly tell me anyone...
i have it just to test it and honestly i dont like it its so light and small,it feels like u have a toy in your hands and not a phone, plus the battery sucks
1000mAh battery seems to be completely fine for this phone. It has less than half the screen of your large Android phones, less than half the CPU power of large Android phones, and more than half of the battery. Seems okay to me. Theoretically this phone should last 25% longer than a large/dual core Android phone.
@jagjagin i have tried 4 out of that 5 and i have to say that WP7 is just crap my list Android > iOS > BlackBerry > WP7 can not say anything about Palm since i have not used it yet
i rather have something smooth than have something that lags such as touch screens its annoying i am "down grading" to a black berry cause this my touch is annoying me .
I Love blackberry. I have had an IPhone and an Android Nexus S. To be honest its personal preference. The IPhone and Android distracts me with unnecessary modding and media. I am more a working man. I like to have a phone for text web and email. Nothing to me has reconciled emails as fast as blackberry. But maybe one day I will give Android another run, Just get so much more done with a blackberry.
@derrickps31 Not to mention that BB had a worldwide system failure, and MSN even pointed outthe fact that for the past five years, BB has been suffering from loss of sales, can you beat the facts, I think not.
Bb's rule, all da apps I need, gr8 keyboard, plays media well, browser good just press alt button and use trackpad to zoom, beautiful design and amazing bbm suckers
@derrickps31 you set yourself up with that one, you said "die as well" meaning that you know BB is dying, People had the same argument when apple made the 3gs and what happened... sold out as soon as it was released, the 4S is already sold out online. You might want to check you facts, when BB can come out with some good apps and features then maybe you will have something to talk about, but right now, you have nothing to use that can defend BB, I dare you to name ten things BB has over iPhone..
ok, for you guys hating on blackberrys... it doesnt matter what YOU think. i love blackberrys i dnt care about the apps. i love the keyboard on blackberrys and bbm. stop the fucking trolling already jesus.
@derrickps31 strange how there are more apple users than BB isn't it. Right now, the majority of the people that use BB are from third world countries. I lived in Jamaica for 18 years, its mostly BB users there because they cant afford the bill with an iPhone, and yet iphone still out sells BB, BB has been going down every year, the are just a little above nokia right now and falling.
No touchscreen, touchscreen, touchscreen blah blah blaaaaah, dudeee, this as your title says, is a blackberry, not an iphone or an android phone, android and iphone are the same, almost only gaming and thats it, bb msn marks the difference though, and bb os iss waaay much different from others, thats maybe the reason you dont like it, stil i must say, it was a good review
@freddiejackson4891 I agree. They are doing things in their own way. For a phone that can email, text and message I can't fault the BB range. I will be getting this phone and it will do everything I need it to do. If I want apps then I will get them on my iPad. Leave the BB to do what it does best and it's time the silly Android and iPhone cock swinging stopped.
phonedog does the best reviews

You didn't show the alt zoom feature on the browser
Hold alt and go up to zoom in or down to zoom out
It's almost like the pinch to zoom technique
@MeInTheNewWorld Which one of these has a btr camera for photos and what is the video recording resolution of bold 9780....
awesome phone !! can't wait till i get it
@iheyizz7059 ok..thank u very much, the last question have u used the new curve 9360..if so then which 1 has a btr BBM....
@SirFrostyKittens They have plenty high end devices now. 1.2GHz processor is perfect for a blackberry.
you can hold alt + trackpad to zoom so you dont have to bring up the menu
@AgentPig007 ..I also want to buy 9360..plz tell me about the camera as it does not have autofocus..how is d overall performance of the phone..is it btr than bold 9780?????
Is this blackberry with touchscreen like Blackberry bold 9900 ? Pls answer
I like the Bold tbh but lack off apps won't make me give up my iPhone 4.
I've tried to give up iPhone 4 for Android and BB but just can't.
what is best the bb 9300 or the bb 9360 what of this two bb is best for you
does this have good battery life? compared to the bold 3?
For canada its around 150 dollars with no contract at Koodo
@vickymhamer Well in terms of specs and such, and the things that you're looking for, you should probably get the Cliq II. How much is BlackBerry curve 9360 in the UK??? Plz answer.
theres a way to close apps? like fastly in multitasking menu ( like iphone)

blackberry curve 9360 or bold 9780, please help me!
can i use whatsapp in Blackberry curve 9369 or in bB OS 7.0?
if you are on t-mobile, want a blackberry and can't buy the bold 9900 because of the price then the 9360 should be a decent blackberry for you to use.
IMO, this review is a little pessimistic, the curve 9360 is extremely light, small, and thin, which is a bigger deal than many think. Also, there is an alt-zoom feature in the browser that is very easy to use, which was missed.
Blackberry makes a good side phone to use when doing business and/or traveling in foreign land.
In my opinion
is there a pauze button on that phone ????
@iheyizz7059 I want the phone for everyday purpose..listening to music,FB,BBM,text messaging, which 1 of the two has a better battery life and whose operating system is btr and what is the video recording resolution of bold9780????
I have the 9360 and would somebody PLZ tell me about the battery system?
is it better than the 3g?? PLZ ANSWER :(
The white version looks beautiful
@xJT96x It's the same in Jamaica, mainly for third world countries like some in the caribbean, they can't afford to pay the bill for an iPhone, so they go with the cheapest option, and BB being all they can afford, they go with that, even though they break down ever so often, and the screens are so tiny, and don't get me started on apps and features, BB is seriously lacking in that department.
can i use whatsapp in bb os 7?
The ONLY bad thing about this phone, is that there's no music buttons on the top, so you have to unlock it and everything to change songs.
@strikerm70 i own a android phone as well.....whats your point? like i said, lots of people use bb for many reasons. if they are dead, then why are they still making sales and have a large population of bb users???
Battery isnt good, but on ebay/amazon you can find a battery with VERY high capacity for only around 6£/$
Hi everyone, it was my birthday last week and I was meant to choose a phone to get! But I need help on what to get - dont want an expensive phone, just something for music...texting... facebook etc :)

.hello..I am from India....I want to buy a Blackberry smartphone...please tell me which 1 is btr BB Bold3 9780 or BB curve 9360..as curve features BB OS 7 and Bold features BB OS 6.which one is btr of the two for taking photos as curve does not have auto focus...kindly tell me anyone...

I'm a BB fan. but come on RIM
I Love blackberry. I have had an IPhone and an Android Nexus S. To be honest its personal preference. The IPhone and Android distracts me with unnecessary modding and media. I am more a working man. This phone should have been a touch screen
@derrickps31 you couldnt name anything better, so therefore, I proved my point.
I live in canada and 80% of the people in my school have some sort of blackberry, it is far from being dead in canada...
@adamchrisbennington im staying with wat i said
@strikerm70 lol i am still using blackberry......so your point hasn't been proved
@derrickps31 Not to mention that BB had a worldwide system failure, and MSN even pointed outthe fact that for the past five years, BB has been suffering from loss of sales, can you beat the facts, I think not.
@vickymhamer get the blackberry 9360 although it is ure decision
Blackberry isn't dying...It's dead.

@derrickps31 you set yourself up with that one, you said "die as well" meaning that you know BB is dying, People had the same argument when apple made the 3gs and what happened... sold out as soon as it was released, the 4S is already sold out online. @iheyizz7059 ok..thanx dude...
Thumbs up if you were here when the title was Curve 9360 Review 2 !
iPhone > Android> WP7> Blackberry> Palm OS
Check out MSN for news on BB's outages in the U.S. and accross the world. Step aside BB, you can't bring a snail to a foot race...
amazon music store? congratulations aaron for your epic fail.....
he talks more about android phones than the blackberry!
en mexico TELCEL y se chingo
@mignesme Couldn't agree more, though that is very disappointing....
since when is this guy hot?
ok, for you guys hating on blackberrys... it doesnt matter what YOU think. i love blackberrys i dnt care about the apps. i love the keyboard on blackberrys and bbm. stop the fucking trolling already jesus.

@Ishcoa tell that to the people that gave my comment the thumbs up, iPhone all the way, BB bites the dust.
i like how this strikerm70 dude is arguing with everyone and trying to say how good the iphone is LOL, grow up
@derrickps31 My point has been proven, have a nice day.
iPhone and Blackberry are copying the Android notification bar.

i think android phones are your forte.
