Thank you for this very informative video!
Does the wind that flows outside of the rotor area affect the clearing of slower air mass that has passed through due to shearing like the entrainment/inducement effect in the Dyson bladeless fan system?

Is Bets limit also apliecable to the Savonius turbine?

The best would be a VERTICAL AXIS (VAWT), not a Horizontal axis (HAWT) wind turbine. Even though they are less efficient, VAWTs are much safer for birds, bats, and aircraft.
I haven't seen one HAWT with an aircraft WARNING BEACON atop each of the BLADES.
Whereas, the highest point of a VAWT would be easy to mark with a beacon.
Also, a LIGHTNING ROD can extend higher than the top of a VAWT. Might as well put the warning beacon atop the lightning rod.
The probability of air flowing towards a HAWT is less and LESS LAMINAR, the larger and LARGER they are constructed; resulting in more uneven stresses, causing warpage and cracking failures.
In North America, 99% of TORNADOES rotational spin is counter-clockwise (with respect of the clouds 'looking' down to the ground). A Tornado would definitely tend to damage or destroy a HAWT, whereas a VAWT would tend to COUNTERACT a tornado and break the tornado up. Which way should the VAWTs spin ? Clockwise or counter-clockwise ?? A laboratory model of a tornado and proportionately tinier VAWTs would provide that answer.

How Airplane Wing and Turbine Blade Works #21 - th-cam.com/video/R5_LJFl-fu4/w-d-xo.html. Video that shows wind velocity in regards of turbine blade number and most important geometry. Baez maximum 1/sqrt(3)=0.58. And my calculation (1-sqrt(3))=0.42 maximum for hydro dams and steam turbines with enclosed chamber where blades geometry is not important. Enclosed chamber is very important, in such case continuity of flow rule can be directly applied. For open space wind turbines?

@@phyarth8082 I have also thought that the Betz limit may not be directly applicable in an open system. The airflow affecting the operation of the turbine extends beyond the swept area therefore needs to be accounted for.
With respect to actual turbines, would a design where only the outer half of each blade is an aerodynamic surface and the inner section is just a support thereby creating an annulus allowing air to pass through the centre area mostly unaffected, produce any improvement in overall performance?
Also, is there any advantage to be gained by incorporating a stator ring behind the blade area to reduce turbulence?
I realise these changes may not be easily applicable to larger scale turbines.

@@cwt5654 Turbulence do not exist, it was introduced by Reynolds as temporary measure to describe chaotic flow regime, with expectation better theoretical model will be developed later, but it stuck. What we call turbulence are Newtonian fluids are all gasses, water, and non-Newtonian fluids are "thick" liquids. Calculation of turbine blade performance (torque) can be done with simple trigonometry, then wind speed is known.

With fast water release cascading vacuum will generate any speed of wind and cost less need no electric costly
