Great vid man 👏 can imagine filming yourself like this makes it easier to see how you can improve. You're inspiring me to film some footage of myself so I can see where I can improve. Keep it up 🤙🤙
Thanks bud glad to hear your enjoying the vids. Funny enough it was @nottherealmccoy4955 and Matt from MC Surf Photography that motivated me to go out with gopro in the first place and loved watching my footage. Planning on having a big year with loads of travel plans from March onwards so vids should be more frequent then.
Hey I’ve been watching a few of your videos, long time surfer here but just passed my test not that long ago so I can finally travel myself. I’m from Dublin so can you recommend best practises or just hope you’re lucky when you get there?
Welcome to traveling circus🤙🤙 Since you're not a beginner I'll guess you know the forecasts that are decent for IE if not let me know and I'll post links. Basically how I plan my trips is start super early so I beat the work traffic along the way plan is to be over latest 9am but preferably 7/8 at the first spot I am banking so I have time to check others if the first one isn't working. Also and the reason I prefer Sligo over the rest of the Island it has spots that work on low and high tide that way you are guaranteed two sessions. Plan your sessions! lets say morning is going to be decent but afternoon is prime swell/tide.So surf a short sesh is the morning and save energy for the afternoon one. Don't skip sessions and wait for prime as driving for a few hours just for one surf isn't worth it imo. Also I can't back this up by anything else then my own experience but first and last light sessions have less wind could be wrong tho. It's a learning process to know/guess where will be working and not also there are whatsup groups with conditions updates. Not for all the spots but it will give you an idea how the swell is working in the area. Any specific questions just shot and I'll answer if I can
@@mrbeansys I was looking at starting a group of Dubs if there isn’t one already. I’m a filmographer as a hobbyist so it would be so cool to get some footage too! Thanks for all the information
@@chriatianmcguirk2161 will do! actually having car issues for the last 3 weeks 4 different mechanics and still not sorted... my regular guy is back next week after a month long holiday so hopefully will start traveling again.
Not a lot but I would say you would get a few days like this every month in average from November to April. Then a few more of really good conditions and couple of swells that are bigger and better then this every winter. Mixed with really shity windblown out days in between. If your thinking of visiting I would recommend not to book Ireland in advance but keep an eye on charts and when you see it hitting book then. Ireland is expensive to visit and maybe you will pay a bit more for the flight if booking last minute but nothing worse then forking alot of money and weather is shit and no surf. And when its shit in the winter its really shit:) We got good pubs tho:)
Hey bud it's 6.6 twin custom made by Baptiste from Endless fun surfboards from Bundoran. Great board so far still getting used to it have it only for a couple of last sessions.
@@mrbeansys you might need a board with more rocker if out in a barrelling reef break, especially if its barrelling/steep on the take off...its hard to tell from the video but your board looks pretty flat ( low rocker)
@@nickbrennan3389 I really think I am just not there skill wise yet definitely wasn't completely out of my element out there but still need to improve a bit more for such advance conditions. Still plan to do a board review comparing it to a big midlenght and Firewire seaside from intermediate perspective. Anyhow thanks for advice appreciate it 🤙🤙
Thanks for the comment dude love to get feedback. When I watch other peoples footage I always prefer when there is more to it then just surfing it feels a bit repetitive for me if its just rides. After all surfing is mostly about paddling, duck diving and positioning and just a short time is actual surfing the wave.
Because you are a novice and In fairness to other surfers you shouldn't surf the reefs. Its not safe to learn how to surf in these spots, there is plenty of beaches to practice and build up your ability without putting others and yourself at risk.
Sorry for the shitty reply caught me at bad time just spent 4 days straight working on the van and wife texted me she left a couple of fish just to trow in the oven for dinner when I finish working..... Well fish weren't cleaned and I seen your comment in the middle of cleaning them haha Now I am not novice might not be ready for barreling overhead waves but surfed successful 10+ ft reef waves so I am sure I didn't put anyone except me in any danger.
Keep it up! Love the vids, also live in Dublin and head out to Sligo every month, been surfing consistently for 3 years
Thanks! I am sure we shared waves at some point then. That drive back after surfing all day is great isn't it:)
@@mrbeansys Probably have! :) Haha, dunno how I do it sometimes, it hurts. Specially after two sessions in the day.

@@topherdean1024 man if only it was a right I'd probably paddle out and paddle right back to the beach when I got there 🤣🤣

Bro, stick to the beaches. You're not ready for the reefs
🤣 What? He's doing fine. Are you one of the guys out there trying to get rid of him?
@topherdean1024 hmm is there a hit on me I don't know about 🤣
Too much paddling not enough surfing
