His grandpops Archie Manning who played QB for the Saints is fast now, also his dad Cooper Manning played WR. They got wheels don't get it twisted now, only Payton and Eli done got skipped on the athletic part. 😅

As long as Ewers is healthy he is definitely the starter. He would have stepped up to avoid that sack. Arch is in no hurry to start

McCown’s son. Also I’ve known a lot of athletes that have gone pro, and were good at smaller schools, but went to UTSA because they were overlooked, but still played in the pro’s. Angleton has had 5 professional athletes that went to great colleges, and that isn’t a big town.

It is difficult to pinpoint. The injury is an oblique strain. They said afterwards he got hurt on the pass play to the tight end who leaped over the defender. Ewers continue playing, but after one play he laid down on the ground due to the pain he was experiencing. He was replaced at that point.

Ewers (starter) has a strained abdominal muscle. Full recovery for a mild strain is two weeks, a severe strain could take 6-8 weeks. I like Ewers but Arch is better. Not sure he will get the job back but QB is one of the rare positions where your most athletic player can be beaten out by the guy who knows the game better.
I disagree, Arch is really good. Ewers has such quick reads and a quick arm to match those throws. How about the no look TD throw against Colorado St.? Arch's wheel are better. Arch may end up being better.
Manning is better athletically only. Ewers is better at reads and a bit more accurate. Manning has a higher ceiling, and will be an absolute problem for defenses the next couple years. Ewers is also week to week. I expect Manning to get the start against UML and then with the bye Ewers should start against OU.
@@Kaltwasser45 Arch is more accurate. Ewers is especially bad with this deep passes. Too many over or under thrown balls. WRs having to adjust and can't catch it in stride. Can't comment about his reads and composure yet.
