Shashi Tharoor, a third-term Member of Parliament for Thiruvananthapuram, is the bestselling author of twenty-four books, both fiction and non-fiction, besides being a former Under Secretary General of the United Nations and a former Minister of State for Human Resource Development and for External Affairs in the Government of India. He has won numerous awards, including the Pravasi Bharatiya Samman, a Commonwealth Writers’ Prize and the Crossword Lifetime Achievement Award. In 2019, Dr. Tharoor was also awarded the Sahitya Akademi Award in the category of ‘English Non- Fiction’ for his book An Era of Darkness. He has previously chaired the Standing Committee on External Affairs and the Committee on Information Technology.
Sumit Samos is a writer, artist, and anti-caste student activist from Odisha. He recently published a book titled Affairs of Caste: A Young Diary. His research interests are caste, cosmopolitan elites, Dalit Christian history, and student politics. He completed his MSc in Modern South Asian Studies from Oxford.
Pragya Tiwari is a strategy and culture consultant, Creative Director of Oijo Media and co-founder of the Indian History Collective. As a journalist she has written extensively on politics, identity, policy, and culture and has edited several publications, including Tehelka, The Big Indian Picture, and Vice.
