When my father was in hospital last year, and (literally) in the process of dying, I kept pulling the Death card (with the Emperor or one of the Kings on its side). Ironically, when I used the Shadowscapes, a deck that depicts Death as a rebirth (a phoenix in very bright colors), that card didn't show up, it was the Judgment instead. I say "ironically" because when decks do this, when they twist the meanings in order not to scare people, in fact they use the Judgment's meaning (rebirth) instead of Death (ending of something). But Death doesn't disappear, you can't avoid it, the meanings are just flipped.
@@-NiamhWitch- Oh! Thank you for watching! I was a little afraid to post this one because I wasn't sure how people would respond, but so far it's positive so I'm pleasantly surprised.
Thanks loads for sharing this video with us; these and some other uncomfortable cards need to be explore better. I do agree that the more literal meanings of these cards are more prevalent in negative/disadvantageous positions in a spread, it's our responsibility as Tarot readers not only to explore said meanings, but also to speak out loud as they are, not sugarcoat your speech or your thinking, let our intuition tell us these negative events, not try to block these feelings and immediately go to toxic positivity, not everything is positive nor does it should be. When I read for my clients and these situations happen, I'm committed to be honest with them, but I do like to pull an extra card at the end of the Reading (usually from an Oracle deck) as an advantageous message for them to move forward. Are you comfortable with others creating a VR to this video? I'd love to participate in this message you're wanting to illuminate to others.
@@EddieinReadingland I am definitely fine with VRs but thank you for the insight! I do believe in seeing a light side out, so it's good that you pull oracle cards.
Loved this video, and sorry about your friend. Encountered this as well, and unless you journal or snap a pic of readings, it may go unnoticed, i.e. Chariot + Tower = car accident. I know Chariot doesn't literally mean a car, but if someone was trying to convey something important to you via the tarot about a vehicle, of course it would be the Chariot card. Also not to say that combo always means that, but it is very interesting. The other one that slaps me in the face is the Temperance card, akin to how you were describing the Devil card, in which case it's probably good to have two cards in the deck telling me to literally get my sh*t together.
The cards kept showing me the tower and the death card and the three of swords. But mostly tower and death. I’d definitely say it was the largest tower moment of my life. I kept seeing it coming and I kept acting like I was seeing the negative. I thought I was doing a self fulfilling prophecy but it was more fate than anything now that I look back at it. That’s what for me into tarot. Those big readings that kept telling me the same thing almost every reading month after month it was like a slow countdown and in the back of my mind I knew it. Thanks for this video, it’s amazing,❤
@@BohemianRoseTarot Hey, thanks! Again, I think I said in the video that I wasn't incredibly close with the individual, but had been at one point in time, so it sucked in that way.

I LOVED this video! This is the kind of tarot tube content I want to see. 🙂

Thanks for talking about this topic 🙌 I've wondered when it means these things more literally.
@@Nicole-zr1me It can be scary, but there's ways around it certainly.
May I make a VR to this video? This is such a great topic.
@@BohemianRoseTarot Oooh yes, I'm interested in hearing your thoughts!
@@CrescentDreamsTarot thank you!!!!!
I almost made this video a couple of times. I will totally do a vr. 🎉

Luckily I do have photo evidence of my readings, but yeah, some combinations are brutal.

Man, sometimes the cards are brutal, but I'm glad you got through the rough period. I've definitely been there before.
Very good video! Thank you!
I'm so so sorry for your loss. 😢
