- Since a lot of you guys wanted to know more about this particular drum set, I decided to give you a little tour! I am talking about the drums, cymbals and about the mic's.

It's really sad to see all these drummers saying "oh this makes me not want to play ever again" or "I'll never be this good". Drummers like this should inspire you, they should make you want to get better.

If I had that kit set up in my garage people would think that I'd died because I would never be seen again. Well that's not totally true, all my neighbours would know I wasn't dead:-).
if you had Lang's set-up, the neighbours wouldn't hear you either. Pretty sure that room is well isolated and he lives in the burbs.
Man, Thomas, you just blow my mind dude, you are definitely (in my opinion) the "BEST" drummer on the bloody Planet. I just love your drumming, your style of drumming, your talent and your personality. God Bless you my friend. I am very curious about your sticks as well, I think I may purchase a pair of them when I have a few dollars saved up. I have many health dysfunctions and so I'm on a very small disability each month, and so I'm quite poor. I play for my church now, but I have been drumming for over 40 yrs now, 20 semi-pro and professionally. But, I think you are just great man, talented but a good sense of humor as well, that's awesome. Take care Thomas and I hope to buy a pair of your sticks soon :)

Pound for pound the most disciplined drummer out there, I honestly can't think of another drummer that can tackle as many genres even verging on the extreme as adeptly and fluidly as this guy, even Vinnie.

I just heard him play for the first time a week ago this dude blows my mind he has the most relaxed style I have ever seen while at the same time pulling off the craziest beats solos ect ect and that double bass he always does wow

YO TOM!!! Love the ‘bits and pieces’ you add to your kit to give you your unique sound combinations ... GOD KNOWS where you get your speed from! I have a severely damaged right wrist that has had 7 rather bone crushing operations on (The initial injury happened before I started playing drums) so my ‘technique’ has always been compromised. The only way I can describe your scarey technique is that you must be a Sith Lord! As Palpatine said to Anakin Skywalker ‘The dark side is a pathway to many abilities that some consider to be unnatural!!’ .... Your amazing to watch mate!! Keep it up!!! 👊🏻👊🏻
So good to see how drumming has evolved, particularly in the "bar" of excellence. The average drummer today has sooo much more to rely upon than when I came up in the '80s, I remember renting a copy of a Steve Gadd video, renting a small t.v./v.c.r., and setting it up next to my drums, no headphones, and learning the stuff. Very cool to see this!

I wanna know how Thomas finds time to practice, perform, record, AND WORKOUT!!!! He must have a secret time machine hidden in his kick drum.
The key is to start doing that when you're young, when you still have time in life...
he's such a monster player and that kit sounds really good, especially the kick and floor tom.

I've never been a fan of Thomas Lang until just now. Wow!!! Loved this video. Something about this video made me see Thomas in a whole new light. This guy is a monster drummer!!! And that kit is very interesting.

that main 13" snare is a thing of beauty. it sounds so good on utube. i bet it's even better in person.

Jonka Olofsson he had practiced since he was five, and he is FOURTY-ISH, even though he stopped practicing the last 10-15 years because of schedules, he did it for over 30 years(!). He probably practiced longer than you're alive hahahah, give it time, if you're patience and perseverant you'll get there. :)
I actually think he is in his 50s now.. But we will see how good i am when i'm 50 haha!

Love that kit. Amazingly talented drummer!!!!!! I use a 10in rack Tom and a 12in 16in floor. Love the contrast and attack.

Haha I love what you have done with the Edge Snare. It kind of reminds me of the old 80's Rock Snare drum. Sort of like Duran Duran!

Pete Privitere budy wouldn't use it😂 he only used one floor tom even though he had two and basically had 3-4 cymbals with a 4 piece kit.

What good would that do?...Buddy has a great left hand. No feet at ALL! No comparison at all, to Thomas Lang. You need the tools to integrate the technology, is all I'm saying.
@@MaGoo7042-n2y buddy was the “Thomas” of his time and I’m not even a real fan of his music. I’ll give props where they’re due though. Thomas is in a class all by himself imho.

The dampener on his snare is a Sonor muffler which he probably just kept around from his Sonor days.

Tomas, and what about your sick kicks, they are pretty awesome, some stuff about it? Tunning, sizes, drumheads, beaters, of course pedals. I think all in here want to know more about this.

I found that Hohner Musikinstrumente GmbH canned production of some of the Giant Step™ pedals - I wanted to get one of those worth-every-dollar Twin Effect Pedals (Hohner® C/N GTEP), which newcomers to the task haven't approached in performance and durability - for poor sales.
