Nice to get a look at the 1960 Sands Summit. It's especially neat to see Bishop and Lawford on stage since most of the surviving Rat Pack footage doesn't include them. Thanks for uploading this.

Hello and thanks for tuning in- we have all the footage ever shot of the 1960 Summit- transferred from the original 16mm optical sound reversal camera original to D-Beta and U-Matic SP with burned in time code (source for the TH-cam uploads). We can't upload any of the actual songs by Frank, Sammy, or Dean due to copyright. :)

Thank you so much for posting all of these Rat Pack videos! I'm a huge fan, I regret I never got to see them live. These boys are the best, and certainly a hilarious and fun group.

Indeed, and I've read somewhere that Joey frequently prepared the routines for them. Plus, Dean lifted a few bits from his days with Jerry; he flipped the roles, giving himself Jerry's part and Frank the straightman role.

Yes, this is true. It's also discussed in a the definitive 2k+ page, 2 vol. bio of Frank.

Took an interest in Peter Lawford's career AFTER the Rat Pack. Especially who stayed loyal to him when Frank showed him the door. Sammy and Peter worked on 3 movies. Joey Bishop had a small role in Peter's produced film (Johnny Cool) and in turn made him a one-time guest on his talk show. On the other hand, it seems Dean Martin would have nothing to do with the Brother-in-Lawford.

This is the kind of show I'd want to do with my friends. We all sing and can riff off each other with no problems, but putting it together like these guys did would be the hard part.

Always thought the parody of "I Love Paris" -- "I Love Vegas" was Dean's tune.

If Peter Lawford wasn't JFK's brother-in-law, he wouldn't be allowed within 100 yards of these guys and that includes. If Frank didn't think Joey Bishop was funny, he wouldn't be allowed withing 1,000 yards of these guys. But even still, I'd like to see an act with just Joey Bishop and Peter Lawford (and maybe a few minutes of Dean.) What would be their night? Either Tuesday or Thursday.

When Frank excommunicated Peter Lawford when he couldn't get Kennedy to stay at Twin Palms, Lawford went on a drinking and drug binge that ended in his death. He literally melted.

Adding insult to injury Kennedy stayed at Bing Crosby's place who was a Republican.

Looks more like a lounge act by today’s standards - small stage !

Well... this is the Copa Room at the Sands- and there's an entire orchestra up there with them... it was the biggest room in Las Vegas at the time. Louis Prima and Keely Smith were at the Sahara's Casbah Lounge- you should check them out if you've never heard them before- they were the hippest act ever.

Always loved Peter law ford but he served no purpose on that stage. When he did crack a joke or try to sing\dance it wasn't just that he was the least talented but that he was untalented. Still a very love able guy and a competent actor in the right role. Never got over losing Frank.

After Frank cut him off, he proceeded to drink and drug himself to death. Yeah, he never even began to get over it.

Peter Lawford is absolutely useless up there. "Say something nice." "Something Nice." Wow! Sharp as a meatball, Peter, sharp as a meatball.

Lawford was a reasonably good dramatic actor and a handsome man. Those things gave him a respectable film career. On the other hand, this song-and-dance stuff was just not him.
