@@KDF1974unfortunately in some cases Forearm tightness leads to a TJ. But the good news is that River said that he didn’t want to come out of the game but Dave pulled him out anyway. We will see tomorrow, hopefully it’s not anything serious 🤞.

Thats what happens when they call up young players that are not ready for the big leagues. Its not only to have the level of play they also have to have the work capacity to withstand the whole season. The same will happen with skenes. He cannot throw 100 anymore. That means hes arm is tired. Paul skenes is not ready for the big leagues yet. His body is not ready to take all the stress he needs more years to develop.

I'm glad I didn't give up on Gavin Lux.
MLB needs to either give the baseballs more texture or allow pitchers to use something stickier to give them a better grip, because the rate at which pitchers are getting injured just throwing is crazy. We know they’re not gonna allow foreign substances, so they just need to make grippier baseballs. If you’ve ever snagged a game ball from an MLB game, those things are like glass, genuinely very slick.
Ain't no mistake neither 😢the games got lots of mechanisms for turning revenue, players and injuries and contracts and sponsorship arrangements all part of the lucrative equation, even that slick as glass ball has a reason and result brother.
It's not just a game, it's business 😢
They use mud to give the balls a better grip, it's all part of the game it's not supposed to be easy

It’s not the balls. River Ryan was throwing 98 for 5 straight innings. Not sustainable on your arm when your throwing as hard as you can every pitch. In the 90’s starting pitchers threw 90-92mph and threw 7 innings every 5 days without getting injured.
Just need the dodgers to get healthy and stay healthy

I've been watching Ryan before this game and his velocity was always consistent maybe 94 - 95 and tonight, he was consistently throwing 97 and above... I think he hit 99 on at least one pitch... Maybe because he was pumped up to be facing Skenes.... Anyway, Yoshinobu was doing the same thing against the Yankees in the start before he strained his forearm....... Throwing at least 97.... I'm wondering if both these guys were simply throwing too hard... Damn shame

The spectrum announcers were talking about it with Yamamoto...... Talking about how he was throwing harder against the Yankees... The next start he gets hurt early and he's gone
This is so fun to watch the dodgers keep acquiring pieces of the 2022 Blue Jays. First Teoscar, then Biggio, now Kiermaier.
Despite that right forearm injury scare from Ryan last night (better not see him back until the middle of next month, Dodgers!), he convincingly outpitched Skenes all the way up to his unexpected exit from the game. Definitely an 'ace-in-training' we're witnessing from that kid right now. Dodger defense aside from K. Hernandez's tanked plays at 3B early on was excellent and factored greatly in the Dodgers' series win last night. Lux still proving doubters wrong with his huge night at the plate. Even Keirmaier finally made himself useful with a game-saving play in CF as well as his first Dodger hit. Still praying Ahmed can secure a postseason roster spot because I just don't trust Rojas to stay healthy at his current age down the stretch. Looks like Edman and Muncy have already begun their rehab assignments and should be back sometime next week. GO DODGERS!!!

As amazing as ohtani is, he’s got one of the worst 2 strike approaches in the league. Btw coming from a dodger fan. Prayers up for river 🙏🏻

Unfortunately he is 2 for last 50 something with 2 strikes. Avg w/ RISP not much better .240

But as a Merrill fan who believes Merrill deserves NL ROTY over Skenes, I don't understand why most of the MLB has a hard on for Skenes likes he's the greatest thing to ever happen to baseball. Don't get me wrong, he is very talented, but Merrill plays every game and consistently makes a huge impact when he does. I just think someone who does that every game compared to every 5 games like Skenes, deserves the ROTY. IMO
@@jon8727Paul Skenes is literally a generational player. He struck out 8 batters against a LOADED roster. Do you understand how difficult that is? How many All-Stars he faced? Yeah, the guy let up 4 runs this game. That’s expected when you face a 239 million dollar roster (Pirates have 84 million dollar roster 29th in league). Tonight shouldn’t diminish the greatness that he’s displayed this season.

Dodgers have to be cursed. MLB can’t allow their golden boy skenes to give up 4er without the dodgers losing something. When we get bounced in the playoffs just remember we’ve got more injuries than any two teams and if you disagree you’re a D1 meat rider and I do not care.
The entire Dodgers medical and trainer staff should be investigated for gross incompetence. More than half the team has been out this season. It's ridiculous. I've never seen this many injuries on one team in one season.
Exactly this has never happened until 2-3 years ago so the training staff is to blame here

Today was one of those rare *"Teoscar days,"* where his overwhelming presence leads the Dodgers to victory. Plus, Lux is back in full form. The only concerns are Ohtani's slump and Ryan's injury.😅
