If you have a decent set of sharpening stones and about an hour and a half you can turn that BeaverCraft into an excellent knife. I ground the bevel off and made it a flat grind and reshaped the tip a bit. The slightly thinner blade and the flat grind made a world of difference. The blade is still thick enough to be sturdy but thin enough to slice through the wood effortlessly. Very pleased with the results.
It's probably a good set for beginners. To see if you really like to have this hobby. But if you are serious about carving/whittling, I recomand to upgrade on quality. Helvie, OCCT, Drake.
I received some birthday money from an uncle last week and have just this morning purchased a BeaverCraft whittling and spoon carving set, which should arrive in the next few days. He said to spend the money unwisely or at least frivolously... I have been doing some basic doorstep whittling with an old but nice clasp knife, making clothes pegs and the like, but want to take the hobby up a notch ‘scuse the pun! I wanted to get a comprehensive, mid-range beginners set to start me off and give me an opportunity to learn what suits my style of work, which is why I opted for the BC 8 knife set. The little chip carving demo should help with some of the Celtic knot carving I have been practicing with my unwieldy clasp knife so I am glad there is the chip carver in the set. I am just off to the shop to stock up with bandages😂
this is the first kit i bought when i started this past summer. After several months of carving, the tip broke off of the 1 1/4" knife. I had a professional sharpen and re-establish the tip. He said the steel is not as well tempered as it could be. i wish there was a place in the states to have them serviced or replaced. I have carved many things with these blades. I use this knife for other projects now as i have another blade that i really like. (ron wells OCCT).
You all prolly dont give a shit but does someone know a method to get back into an Instagram account?? I was dumb lost my login password. I appreciate any tips you can offer me
@Kian Zechariah Thanks so much for your reply. I got to the site thru google and I'm waiting for the hacking stuff atm. Seems to take quite some time so I will reply here later when my account password hopefully is recovered.

@Kian Zechariah It did the trick and I now got access to my account again. I am so happy!
Thanks so much you saved my ass!
@Benjamin Justice glad I could help :)
The price is very tempting. I'm concerned about the tang length and lack of a ferrule. Do the blades seem to be securely mounted?
Yes.
Nice video, thanks for sharing.
Don’t you use the back of the leather strip and not the face when stropping?
either works. the compound does the work
I have this set too
I have that kit, I really don't like the rough out knife at all.. the detail knife is ok.
Plz let me know how I could get that set..
Check the links in the description.
I got that big knife and I had to sharpen it
