Salaryman Tsuyoshi Mukouda is accidentally summoned as a hero to the Kingdom of Reijseger in another world to help defend against their enemies. Wary of the royal family's true intentions, Mukouda is able to talk his way out of the situation due to his non-combat skill, "Online Supermarket," which is deemed useless. However, this power proves to be anything but useless. With this ability, Mukouda is able to cheaply purchase food products and utensils from Japan-most of which are considered luxuries in this world. As Mukouda cooks up a storm using his ability, he catches the eye of the fearsome mythical wolf Fenrir. The legendary beast swiftly negotiates a contract to become Mukouda's familiar, unable to resist the delicious dishes. With Fenrir by his side, Mukouda travels the world, earning his keep as an adventurer and merchant all the while enjoying delectable meals.

The most unrealistic part of this anime was that people thought his skill was useless a merchant that has access to supplies while in the middle of nowhere has no use.
Well their in a fantasy world so online shopping who would have thought that it would be usable in a fantasy style world, haven't seen any magic that would let you do that in books or other media till this anime came out.
They never heard online shopping so in there eyes it was useless
It's mostly because no one knows how it would work in that world. How the items would be delivered, etc. Also, the ones who summoned him don't know what online grocery is.
I believe what you're saying. Seems nobody in that world has dealt with logistics, and getting food where it needs to be as fast as can be.

This is my niche of anime. Cool and powerful and cute familiar, cooking, isekai where the protagonist isn’t putting together a harem. The protagonist also isn’t a high schooler and is actually very competent. I wanna watch this now.
So basically the students got duped because they were idealistic and innocent while the corporate worker has seen it all and doesn't trust the king as he looks shady.
Pretty much. The LN gives a bit of info here and there.. They ended up nearly enslaved but eventually got away. The girl on the right at 0:35 loses her arm to free herself of an enslavement collar. The three become adventures and marry as a mini harem. Mukouda eventually catches wind and while he doesn't reconnect directly with them, he sends 100 gold and one of Sui's elixirs that regrows the girl's missing arm.
Also there is a "what if" story where Mukouda succeeded on convincing the three to get the hell out of Dodge. The four become adventures and Mukouda a merchant as well. They live in a house and become a tight group with the three looking up to Mukouda like a guardian. The girl who lost her arm in the main story is particularly close to him as she enjoys cooking with him. Lastly in a humorous irony the three love and rely on Mukouda's online grocery skill a lot.

You can literally summon whatever you want whenever you want and you never have to carry anything around because you've got unlimited storage space in a dimension without time so not even your food will ever spoil in that dimension... Not the best as a combat skill but it tops everything else in terms of sheer utility and improving your life. Even better because he has access to two markets completely independent of each other with him being the only bridge so he can make an absolute killing in exchange rates. Like the salt and pepper for example, obviously common and worthless in our world but in medieval towns you'd be able to buy an entire mansion with a few pounds of peppercorn just because of how rare it is. You can just become a pepper merchant for a month or two and you're set for life with a billion other get rich quick options, virtually limitless items he can profit on.

While I haven't seen this Anime personally, I do love how they show that a simple meal is powerful and that people create good memories because of it. You could arrive in a different world with powers, but they'd be useless if you need to eat! Basically everyone enjoys sitting down to a home-cooked meal! ^^
If you havent seen the anime Log Horizon I suggest watching it just to see how food effects change in that world

Although I am not a big Fan of Isekai, this one is great! I had a lot of fun watching it. I also hope they will be more seasons to come. And then, there is the gluttonous Fenrir who is simply hillarious when it comes to modern day food prepared by Mukohda. I also hope that they will reunite with the party of adventurers from the very beginning.

For real, I just discovered this anime and a just had to read the manga afterwards. Even the novel (best read on kitchen-novels) is fun although the cooking parts might feel like fillers sometimes. But it's still worth reading because of the insane shit that keeps happening further into the story. The anime only covers like 1/6 of the novel, whereas manga only covers about 2/6 of the story

One of the best anime of 2023 have watched this anime and learned to cook some of the food served. Glad a love interest hasn’t showed up but he admits his shortcomings and the goddess’s are typical clumsy and greedy though Fire and Water are hotties in their own ways.

In the end they were stupid to let him go(as the cook is an important part of the party and background at all(because that's what people protect)) but we can't say we regret that they did, HAHAHAHA
