  • This is a selection of key pointers taken from the book Consciousness and the Absolute and Sri Nisargadatta Maharaj The Complete Works
Nisargadatta Maharaj (17 April 1897 - 8 September 1981), born Maruti Shivrampant Kambli, was an Indian guru of nondualism, belonging to the Inchagiri Sampradaya, a lineage of teachers from the Navnath Sampradaya and Lingayat Shaivism.

Maharaj is the only Guru who takes us back to our Original State. How amazing that his words were understood, translated into Clear English and can reach us in the comfort of our homes without having to travel to a distant teacher or place. Such s Grace 🙇🏻‍♀️🙇🏻‍♀️🙇🏻‍♀️

Hi, thank you for doing this ultimate series. did he ever talk about what the point is of unreality or experience. as he says reality knows there is a body or experience otherwise how does it wake up to it in the same way we experience waking up from deep sleep. I know the mind can go round in circles. I suppose I am thinking more from a philosophical perspective than mystical 🙏

Can any one, please, explain what is the meaning of terms (self, Brahman, ParBrahman) used in sentence "When you donate self, you are Brahman, when you donate Brahman you are ParBrahman". I doubt that the term consciousness is very confusing and used for both individual's sense of being or presence and for in which world appears as dream. A child sees world and hence has consciousness whereas he is free from the 'sense of being'. Maharaj is also saying consciousness knows itself, whereas I as Absolute don't know myself.

Yes , I agree, things can get very confusing.
Please remember that , I am a seeker like most people.
This is how I understood it.
When you donate self , you are Brahman.
Here 'self ' is referred as ego,
" your story " or put in other way, I am 'this or that'.
Now when you donate your ego , you are Brahman,
which means you are , The Absolute , the Ultimate sense of reality
      whose characteristics are - absolute existence ( Sat ) , absolute consciousness ( Chit ) ,
absolute bliss ( Ananada). In my opinion,
what Nisargadatta Maharaj refers as 'I am'.
This is perceptible state , but not permanent.
And , when you donate Brahaman , you are Para-Brahman,
which means Supreme Reality ( Para - beyond , Brahman -Ultimate reality )
This state of reality is beyond perception and you don't know that you are.
