    I've been in immense, stabbing pain in my shoulder blades and neck the last 2 days to the point of hardly being able to turn my neck. Been reading all morning and came across "rhomboid" as the muscle. Just did these excersises in this video for 3 minutes and my pain decreased by a good 70% already. THANK YOU. THANK YOU. THANK YOU.

    I think the isometric contraction should be done prone on the bench instead of supine, so the rhomboids support the weight. Supine, it's a mix of contraction and stretch.

    the 2nd exercise doesn't make sense. how is that activating ur rhomboids? it would only be activating them if you flipped ur body around and had ur eyes facing the floor... then you retract ur scaps. laying on a bench like that with weights and retracting ur scaps is completely illogical for rhomboid strengthening. rhomboids are scapular retractors.

    In the cases, having stiffness in Rhomboid, scapular region or neck area, stretching exercises are to be done every single day?
    Or should there be a holiday as well for those muscles to recover?

    Dear teacher, when you do bench press , rhomboid be exposed to too much contraction and getting pain it happened to me now I can not push heavy , you thin is it gonna help me?

    As a Physiotherapist: the second exercise is a very wrong movement because while Isometric contraction of any muscle or muscle group like Rhomboid itself the gravity already helps us to do it in supine position,,with keeping those weight in your hands you help that contraction so less effort by your muscle, the first exercise was correct but keeping good line in the spine is very important,,hope you guys understood what the function of this exercises are..

    may be I have problem of pec minor, my shoulder is rounded and I have choronic pain in rhomboid muscles.please can u share me which excercise I have to do..?

      I used to have bad posture and rounded shoulders. It took a few inches off my height it was so bad. Start doing back exercises like pullups or rows etc, to strengthen those back muscles. Do stretches for your chest to loosen it and above all, use proper posture always. I literally just focused on always keeping my back in proper posture and eventually it was automatic. I also started working out so the muscles on my back became stronger which helps a lot as well. I have perfect posture now.

      after correcting your posture, did you do exercises again for chest muscles with back muscles. or you just continued doing the same exercises for protecting your posture?

    The rhomboid row looks really useful, thanks! It's basically a prone reverse fly without putting stress on the elbows.

      no, it can make knots larger. if you want to get rid of knots, i would reccommend stretches, and massage. theracane makes pretty nice self massagers

    Beware!!! jumping in and doing loads of this with two cans of beans to help yourself can cause dibilitating pain and stiffness. Ouch!!

    Injured my rhomboid whilst in the marinea, thought it was a disk problem but turns out it was both rhomboids were torn.
