Much respect to Sifu Amon. I, too, practiced Bamboo Forest Southern Mantis, White Eyebrow, and Uechi Ryu Karate. After 20+ years, I stripped away the fluff and got down to a few essentials within which I "free-float" rather than stick to rigid technique. This man here seems very down-to-earth and approachable, with not a hint of the arrogance commonly seen among people of his caliber.
My family has seen Amon on Keawakapu beach the last 3 years in a row, spent time with him finally, getting to know what an amazing man he is. What an amazing history. He spent time teaching our 3 young boys some Kung Fu basics. We spent the evening on his perch watching the amazing sunset. The local beach is blessed to have him looking over the area. We'll be sure to find him on our next visit to Maui.
Great video Fred Evrard! Honoured to see such a simple and grounded man. Respect n well wishes for your Sifu from all my heart. Hope you'd be able to make some time out of your busy schedule to visit your Sifu few times a year.
This martial art, or safe to say killing art, was almost extinct. Because it was warfare technique, there are minimal room to show this technique because it was designed as one uninterrupted movement with final target are enemy head/neck.
Thank you sir. Sifu Amon originally practice Hakka styles of Kung Fu (mostly Fung Yan, Lung Yin and Southern Praying Mantis). Over the years, he went away from his original practice to develop something that was in tune with his body and philosophy.
Fred Evrard Thank You,I to train in Southern Mantis and Pak Mei and saw the essence in Sifu Amons movements, you’ve just confirmed it.I like his method and that is something to aspire to,much respect 🙏🏼
Well, being a SPM practitioner, I found it quite informative. Since you are, apparently, a JKD man, might I suggest a video more in your line: "Godzilla vs the Sea Monster".
This is the problem with Chinese martial arts: idiots more worried about etiquette, lineage, "chi power", and a host of other things that have little or nothing to do with combat. Then, when someone doesn't do something the way these idiots think he should, they get all butt hurt and judgemental. Study your Kung Fu history, clown, and you'll see lots of great masters who left their sifus due to one circumstance or other.

Please, explain how it works, after 40 years of martial arts practice, including 20 as a full time professional, I'd love to hear your thoughts.
