Alannah Mahon thanks so much for watching! Fashion has so many different pathways so it allows you to have lots of options job wise. Good luck! Have a lovely weekend! X
Hi lovely, so sorry for such a late reply. Just looked at the comment section now! I am planning on making another fashion video soon as I haven’t done one in a while. I’ll mention this topic 100%. For me, I was more interested in styling, so that’s why I went down the promotion route! But if you’re more into possibly management / marketing side then that’s another good option. Both courses are different but both are as good as each other to get into different sides of the fashion industry! But I’ll chat about it in the vid. Thanks so much for watching !! X
I want to study fashion promotion/communication and so i applied to nottingham trent, arts uni Bournemouth, solent uni, uni for the creative arts and de montfort uni. they all do that course/similar ones :)
Hi, thank you so much for sharing. I just graduated from BA Fashion Imaging and Illustration at London College of Fashion and applying for Central Saint Martins MA Fashion Communication: Fashion Image pathway now, which I need to create Fashion Communication and Promotion related portfolio. So wondering how to start it and what I should include? Does it have to be photography-based?
Hello! Thank you so much for watching my video and so sorry for such a late response. That sounds amazing !! Hope it’s going well for you. My response might be too late now, but for any future applications or possible work I’d recommend a mix of everything, photography, drawing / illustration and writing. I think showing your skills in all areas is a good idea for a portfolio, even if it isn’t a strength. For me my strengths were drawing!! But writing was a weakness, but still included parts of it. I hope it’s gone well for you and again thanks so much for watching !! X

ines nunes ines nunes hiya, I attend Northampton university. For there, I bought a laptop along with notebooks. For my course, laptops are essential as I do a lot of photoshop / CAD work at home. Thank you very much. Good luck!!
http:/Martyna. com so I did geography, English language & dance. Literally nothing to do with fashion at all so I had to make a portfolio of my own work to get in to the course xx
Yes, but I decided to go about it differently as I didn’t have much experience / projects prior. So I worked for a month or two on smaller pieces which I made into a portfolio, along with a big creative board.
What kind of portfolio do we need to get into this course? What does the portfolio have to include? What does it have to be about?
Really good points in this video, I'm debating between fashion design and promotion, so this definitely helped! Thanks for sharing X

Did you need a portfolio when you applied?
Yes, but I decided to go about it differently as I didn’t have much experience / projects prior. So I worked for a month or two on smaller pieces which I made into a portfolio, along with a big creative board.
