    I really like the look of this. It could scratch that Royal Oak itch, possibly, with its tool-y hexagonal bezel. While I appreciate the thought behind the protective plastic bit, practically speaking I'd rip it off immediately and it would live in the box. Thanks for another great review!

    Good review, you didn’t talk about the movement too much however. Being that a reasonably priced Swiss Made watch with the ETA 2824-2 movement that beats at 28,800, I would think you would have got into that further as a big selling point and maybe talking about the micro adjustments as well as the diver extension and how the watch wears would have been nice to add to your review. One bizarre thing I noticed about your video is the odd placement of the watch showcasing it into a pile of coffee beans. Very odd indeed.

    Really nice, if perhaps too chunky. Personally I would go for the quartz version as it’s so tuff, the auto just cannot compete with that. The quartz might not be finished to as high standard, but it’s fine on the rubber strap when a Gshock just won’t do! Both lovely watches though.

    I love my Alliance black, leather, automatic more than my Tissot T Open Heart. It's better built, nicer geometry and execution. Fantastic watches, imagine a Swiss G-Shock and there you have INOX. Love the dial and overall look of the dial. I don’t mind the case size, but the bracelet makes it look chunkier than it should and comes off too blocky. Even with my 8.25” wrist, the bracelet needs to be a little less meaty. But I’d take that dial any day. Thanks for the review.

  • @lucalambia2010

    FIY, usually a QR with the serial number is used for product tracking during the production chains. They're almost entirely automatized so when the watch ends a processing (eg. coating or assemblying) or a test (eg. accuracy, weight, general qa) the qr is scanned from a reader to "attach" the results to that specific watch. You're right and that could be linked to authenticity, but I don't know if Victorinox has a proprietary app to check for it. Some companies do that, and also allow to check the test history to their customers. Never heard in the watch field but that would be awesome.

    This watch is referred to as "Mechanical" by Victorinox... It seams odd to me that this is not a "Mechanical" movement, rather the ETA 2824-2 is obviously an "Automatic" movement. The watch is even specified as "Automatic" on the dial. Here in the United States movements are standardized as Solar/Quartz (combo of Solar enhanced Battery power, Quartz (Battery power), Mechanical (the only way that the movement gets energy is through Manual Winding, and Automatic (the movement gets it's power through Movement of the wrist and arm to spin the internal Rotor, or some can also be Manually Wound as well). I saw in the video where the enclosed documentation described the watch as "Mechanical"... I am a bit confused, maybe it's a language/translation situation?

    • @gyang333

      Miguel dlc (diamond like carbon) coating. Typically brands will use black DLC coating to make the watch stand out. I didn't even realize a clear coating was possible. The other nice thing with clear is, if it ever scratches, it's not as noticeable whereas black dlc coating will scratch and then you can see the steal colour underneath which is more jarring.

    At 40 or 41mm, it’s competing with the Hamilton Khaki Field. I think this is probably too big for a lot of guys.
    Great review.

      I'm not sure how it is competing with the HKF - it's nothing like it?

    • @Vow247
      @Vow247 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      ROB 12013 at 40 or 41mm it would be a military inspired automatic field watch on a solid bracelet with 200m W/r and a date function. The Hamilton khaki field is a military inspired automatic field watch on a solid bracelet with 100m W/r and a date function. So yeah, kinda similar,

      @@Vow247 Do you mean the HKF king? If so I see it but the reg HKF looks so dissimilar.

    • @Vow247
      @Vow247 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      ROB 12013 nope. The king has only 50m w/r and a day and date functionality. Don’t think I can help you any further dude.

    Overbuilt IMHO. Too chunky and big. It lacks lume and Tritium would've been a great addition. For a more reasonable watch, consider the Marathon GSAR. It comes in quartz and automatic Swiss versions.

    The only negative aspect of this watch is that it is not run by solar power. If they want the ultimate toughness and ultimate durability, it should be solar power. Mechanical watch needs oiling every few years and that is not "a life time". Not the mention Solar quartz is more accurate.
