I think it would be helpful if you included detailed alignment and installation instructions with every kit you sell. I imagine most of your customers have these installed by other shops who just don’t understand how precise it has to be in order to ride as intended.
It’s obviously a big enough issue to warrant Jeff making this video. It’s great that he’s personally willing to talk to customers, but he’s very busy running a company and simply adding detailed instructions to every kit they ship out would eliminate thousands of calls and upset customers.
100% Agree that the kits need to come with install instructions and alignment specs. I just got my kit and nothing in the box, called Westcott and was told to locate a TH-cam video. Come on... just include the instructions and the specs please.
I’m looking forward to getting my lift and wheels installed at your shop in a couple weeks. I just had my rock sliders installed the other day. You’ve got a great shop Jeff and everyone there is great, especially Thomas who helped me with my order.
Wish the shops around would follow your direction, pain to get them to listen and do it right. Paid for 3 different alignments, they still can’t it right. Wish I was closer to just have you do it lol. Love the kit though.
If you were closer, I would just do it to prove a point. I hate to see when shops can’t do things right!. Unfortunately it is really is hard to find people that really care these days. They just go through their daily life collecting a paycheck and not really passionate about what they do. I love to challenge myself everyday trying to figure out something new or how to over come a problem. Please keep in touch and keep me posted. Thank you for believing in us and our products🙏
We like to pin back the liners if we can. We prefer not to cut out the liners. 35’s don’t need the lines cut at all. Depending on what brand 37 you run you may need to trim the liners.
So what you're saying is, my Sr5 with HITACHI shocks shouldnt be maxing out over larger bumps? because it does i figured that would be a side-effect of a preload lift but if its not.... Should I contact the installer?
I love your products and considering a lift for my 24 Tundra TRD Pro. I'm a little hesitant because its brand new. Does your lift kits void the manufacturer warranty?
Jeff is it possible to put a bigger lift (Westcott Design) on a 23 Tundra Pro. I understand you have the 2 inch lift and that is as high as you guys wanted to go to keep the factory ride. If I am ok with it riding harder can you put a bit higher lift? 2 inches to me is not worth the effort or expense my opinion. I am ONLY putting a Westcott lift on my truck or it will stay stock... I was hoping for a 4 inch lift or at least level 4 in. in the front 2 1/2 in back or how ever it measures out. .
I sure wish you had a clone of you in Louisiana with a shop!!!! Do you have a list of certified dealers you recommend here in Louisiana that uses your products?
Thanks for the educational videos, Jeff. I’m missing something on offset though. If I want some poke should I be going for a 18+ or 18-? I feel like I’ve seen them poke on both so it makes me think I’m missing something. Is it different for every wheel/maker?
+ numbers from 0 on up continue to pull the wheel in under the vehicle. - numbers starting at 0 on up pushes the wheel out further. And the offset effects different vehicles different ways and this is because of the hub location that the wheel bolts to its location. A Tundra with a 18x9 with a +18 still has 1.5” out side the fender or poke. The higher the + number like a factory tundra wheel is a +56 or +60. This is is so it has even amount of load on the hub and bearing to lower the chance for failure and maximize it’s life.
They can not void your warranty. Here is how warranty works. If you change something on your vehicle, and that part that you change fails or cause failure on any other Toyota parts, they will not cover it, but they cannot for the warranty on any other parts. Example: if you change the wheels on your truck and change the offset and the wheel bearing goes out, and Toyota can prove that the additional load, because of the wheel offset caused the wheel, bearing to fail, they can void the warranty on that wheel bearing and that wheel bearing only. I have been doing my lift since 2015 and some of the vehicles now have 150k miles on them and have yet to have our lift cause failure on the suspension or any other part. We sell them to over 400 Toyota dealers.
I'm putting 34" on my stock 20" wheels on my 22 tundra 1794 AVS - I have your 1" rear and 3" front leveling spacers -Toyota is going to do the alinement - On your spec sheet would that be the Tundra 4x4 22-23 (except TRD Pro) spec numbers?
That is correct. How wide of a tire are you going to run? Make sure they are dead on or just under and it will work great. Don’t let them tell you they got it close but couldn’t get it right there. Then ask them if other people are getting the numbers exactly why can’t they. If they say different truck tell them no same truck same lift with correct numbers😉
With a kit this cheap, the caster they are showing is bs. You can absolutely get the camber and toe where it needs to be but the caster is impossible to get where they have it. They will never show a raw video of an install on a new customer and do the alignments no cuts, and show they have the caster right. The upper ball joint needs to be adjustable to get it right. It is the kits fault. It’s one of the cheapest out there
I’ve installed this same kit, 3 different trucks. All of them the caster is different between them. You can adjust the lca eccentrics all you want, you will be lucky if you can get to the spec they have listed. Not only that but these trucks aren’t simple to align on hunter machines thanks to Toyota and the ride height differences and ballasts.
Yes. Bad idea? I don’t have the funds to buy new wheels so I thought I’d get bigger tires that fit the stock wheel. Should I have gone with something else? Thank you!
Hey jeff hope you’re doing very well my friend, i got a 2024 Tundra Limited TRD Off Road, i just put a set of 35” x 12.50 R20 on stock suspension, no rubbing at all not even at full lock, but i lost my alignment sir, it tends to pull to the right. I took it to toyota dealership they make the alignment and still pulling to the right, so went back to toyota and this guys put another set of tires of another tundra and drives perfectly straight, so what’s seems to be the problem?? To i need to put the leveling kit to get the alignment??? Is 0.00 in all tires at balance wise!!! If you have any idea please i will appreciate your input sir, thanks!!
So all tires affect the way the vehicles drives a little different. This is why we always suggest an alignment any time some does new tires. You can also rotate tires and depending how they have been wearing will cause it pull or wonder. You may have had a bad tire if it pulled and if it was moved to another location on the truck and it caused it to pull in the other direction. We see more out of round tires these days and rebalancing them does not make them round again it just makes them heavier. Please feel free to call me any time with questions or concerns on my cell. Thanks again, Jeff Westcott Cell 480-703-2440
You need to understand I worked the last 20 years for Toyota and started my company after dealing with all the garbage that was on the market! So every thing we make has been well engineered. Let’s just say it has been over engineered😊. Oh yah not to mention I have been in the automotive industry my who life and my parents who life and my grand parents. So yea I’m well rounded in this stuff to say the least. I still work with Toyota Engineering to this day. But hey what do we all know these days🤷
So why don’t you include a sheet with the specific specs for that vehicle in the kit. That would help people tremendously.
That would be very helpful! Am I suppose to go in the back and pull up this TH-cam video for the alignment guy?
You need to have a second shop in Texas! Jeff is a solid business owner!
I think it would be helpful if you included detailed alignment and installation instructions with every kit you sell. I imagine most of your customers have these installed by other shops who just don’t understand how precise it has to be in order to ride as intended.
I agree but like Jeff says call him or the shop they will give you all the information that you need.
It’s obviously a big enough issue to warrant Jeff making this video. It’s great that he’s personally willing to talk to customers, but he’s very busy running a company and simply adding detailed instructions to every kit they ship out would eliminate thousands of calls and upset customers.

bingo.
Last month I got the preload kit with 37s on my 23 TRD Pro and I absolutely LOVE IT. Thanks again 🙌🏽
We appreciate you being outfront and clear, great video

It is subjective and everyone won’t have the same opinion especially with how many you’re doing. Keep up the great work.
Jeff’s a cool guy and I’m telling you all he will call you back a very nice and I think a good person
Wish y'all had a place in middle TN, hard to find honest work.
Just a helpful note…The alignment specs are online in the photos of each kit. One love and God bless everyone ❤️🙏🏽

On the hybrid systems, they have a vibration issue. Toyota is aware of it. Will these kits make that issue worse?
Good insight!! I have a 23 Tundra TRD off-road on 35’s and have been thinking off leveling it.
Btw I met a good friend of yours .. Tyler Kellet
I wish I lived closer, I'd have you guys do mine.
You should show the close up shots of where you guys cut in the wheel wells
We like to pin back the liners if we can. We prefer not to cut out the liners. 35’s don’t need the lines cut at all. Depending on what brand 37 you run you may need to trim the liners.
What an excellent explanation. Thanks for posting.

If you're just running the lower collar to level the truck, do the same alignment specs apply? Are those supplied with the kit?
Great information and great video! 👍🏻
How does it ride off road? I like to do "light" prerunning, just curious what its like running it throughout the stroke?
Thanks for the educational videos, Jeff.

What about those lug centric wheels on a hub centric design?
When you mentioned 18 offset, is that a negative 18 or positive 18?
wish you had a shop in my area😢
Where can I find the alignment specs for my 22 tundra 1794 4x4 with avs
Here is my cell text me and I will send them over to you. 480-703-2440
Does anyone know how the 35/12.5r18 General Grabber ATXs with the stock rims fit on a 2022 Tundra SR5 TRD Off Road RWD and the Westcott 3/1?
I hear that once you put an after market lift kit- Toyota will null the warranty.
They can not void your warranty. Here is how warranty works. So do we need to get an alignment after installing ? Or only get an alignment if we notice the ride quality deteriorating?
@@bailelouderback4537 you should always do a alignment after a vehicle is lifted or after installing new tires

What wheel and tires are on this truck?
These wheels are Method NV 305 18x9 with a +18 offset. The tires are 37x12.5x18 Nitto Ridge Grappler.
Truck is clean
I get it. Thanks
Which wheels are those?
do u make kits for ford f150?
I’m sorry we don’t.
Anyone get the rims size and type?
Can I install a leveling kit and then do the lift kit too?
You can level the front and then add the rear and the other 1/2” in the front. So to answer your question yes
@@westcottdesigns thank you. Do y’all sell a level for the front
