I listen to this song daily and have seen Yanni in concert 4 times. This is my favorite song of all time. You guys are trying to play and imitate the best of the best and though it's not exactly the same, you should be happy and very proud of how kick ass of a job you both did. The Violin is no joke and to come that close by playing it on notes and by ear something I do and you did great!! The Piano was played very well indeed. You played it as if Yanni was right there coaching you. Again, wonderful performance!!

Nice work, it's nice to hear somebody finally realising that music doesn't need to be a race, but can be a marathon... but I didn't hear much improvisations, what you played was mostly taken directly from the "Yanni live! The concert event". Still, you played it as if you wrote it yourselves

If you put this cover in studio then you will notice something wrong from 4:13.. The sudden change of Voilin sounds and frequencies makes half of this cover fake. I'm sorry guys.. Half of this cover is been merged from some yanni's cover or show..

Thanks for mentioning it. This gives us an opportunity to explain how hard it is to make an impromptu / rubato cover when the artists are not in the same room. For these kind of pieces, one cannot have any synchronization mechanism such as a tempo track or a reference track. Whoever is leading the section, that is the reference for the other musician to accompany. The section until the timecode you mentioned is led by the pianist. The subsequent section is led by the violinist (you can visually see the pianist's video being switched). One doesn't need to hear the cover in the studio to catch that as this is evident by just looking at the video.
Also, It wouldn't take more than an hour for us to upload the BTS of the cover. Any good music lover / musician would know how impossible it is to be able to sample accurately mimic this kind of a performance. So we don't really have to prove our point here.
Please do let us know if you have other better ideas to go about making virtual covers on impromptu style compositions like this. We are more than happy to learn and improve!
