Deputy Raylan Givens has his own, Wild West-style methods of upholding justice, putting him at odds with the criminals he hunts and with his bosses in the U.S. Marshals Service. And an incident prompts his reassignment to the Kentucky district where he grew up. The character is based on one created by author Elmore Leonard in several books and short stories.

Um not really, when his height and build are way off with tattoos clearly showing, and the guy hes attempting to impersonate is far from stupid. It was in itself incredibly stupid. It was smart in theory, but dewey is so stupid that he blew it

Dewey quoting what Raylan told him earlier about going back to poaching gators...smart in the sense of accurately impersonating Raylan, (even though made no sense), dumb in the sense of later getting caught. The actor is Australian, so all around brilliant job with the various accents.
I laughed so hard in this scene! Dewey Crow definitely knew how to impersonate Raylan with the white cowboy hat lmao
Screw the hat that was easy, how about the fact 99% of what he said was said by the marshal word for word to Dewey by the marshal previously?
Dressing up wearing a hat is one thing, impersonating someone using their unique mannerisms and exact words is what almost pulled it off.
And ironically, also what got him caught.
In fact using the marshal’s exact words is what got Dewey caught because of the gâter line. 👍
