k I could always tell jeongyeon was a better vocalist because she sings more melodiously/ connects and supports more, but kpopvocalanalysis, an actual professional who provides in depth analysis of vocal technique actually confirmed this also so jeongyeon is better. The amount of lines you get/ your position doesn't determine how good a vocalist you are.

Sana sings so well in Precious Love, Touchdown, Do It Again (SIXTEEN ver. and TWICE ver.) I wish they would give her more of a chance to showcase her strong vocals instead of just telling her to do cutesy stuff
she's not officially a lead, it was a fan positioning that gave her that. only leads are jungyeon and nayeon officially, but mina might as well be. sana, tzuyu, and momo are all sub vocals, i believe.
imo it's: Jihyo Jungyeon Nayeon Chaeyoung Tzuyu Mina Sana Dahyun=Momo Dahyun and Momo are not good singers, but I like Dahyun's tone, especially in the studio Sana had the potential to improve but I think JYP told her to sing with her aegyo voice now so I don't believe she'll improve her vocals pretty soon. Mina is alright, but her tone is not really pleasant to my ear, I think it's really bland.. Tzuyu is equal with Mina but she's one of the most stable singer in the group so she's higher. Her tone is good imo but bland too Chaeyoung was really their strenght vocally after Jihyo, Nayeon and Jungyeon in Sixteen but I'm afraid that the JYP technique and her "rap" regress her Nayeon is really stable, but her vocal technique seems to lack compared to Jungyeon, she's kinda pitchy. Jungyeon is really stable too but has her bad moments. Her voice stands out the most for me, it's mature. Jihyo is obviously better than all of them, and even she has her weakness too, I love her voice !
My Updated Opinion" after being a fan of twice for 3 years now 1} Jihyo she deserves this place and it will never be changed 2] Nayeon 3]Jeongyeon 4]Chaeyoung 5] Tzuyu or Mina >still debating because tzuyu is being a lot more stable and mina is being lot quieter 6]Sana 7] Momo and Dahyun" I cant decide yet because momo voice is actually really good when she sings in the right key that is good for her voice but dahyun voice is okay just not as vocally pleasing its like she is still saying the lyrics not singing them.
I agree with pretty much everything, but I never think of their voices as "annoying or aggravating." And the rank is pretty much spot on for me, but I usually list them in a more broad manner: 1. Jihyo, Jungyeon, Nayeon (best) 2. Mina, Chaeyoung, maybe Tzuyu, not quite Sana (second best) 3. Sana and Tzuyu (not quite second best, but not the worst) 4. Momo and Dahyun (the worst, but not "awful." Clearly need work, but slowly improving. The problem is that Chaeyoung and Dahyun are the face of Twice's rap line, but Twice doesn't have impressive raps. They don't even have the chance to show their skill. And by they, I mostly mean Chaeyoung. She's clearly the best one. They need to stop with vocalist Momo and direct her towards rap, or at least a balance of the two. I would say her rap is more impressive than Dahyun, who gets caught up on words and can sound frantic at times. So yeah, push Dahyun and Momo to improve their rapping, and let Chaeyoung sing a line her and there. Sana isn't the best vocalist in Twice, but she's better than Momo and Dahyun. She's getting better, but there's still a ton of room for improvement. I don't even know if I would say she's as good as Tzuyu, but for the most part, they're on the same level. Tzuyu does have the edge in stability, but as you said, her tone isn't always interesting. I like her voice though. Mina is pretty much a lead vocal at this point. She gets a ton of lines, and honestly she deserves it. She has a long way to go (especially in terms of projecting her voice), but she's doing well. Her soft voice works well in contrast to the 3 actual leads, who have more punch. Chaeyoung has always been good, no surprise. I wouldn't mind if in their next song, Chaeyoung and Momo switched places. Vocalist Chaeyoung? Rapping Momo? Yes please. Nayeon and Jungyeon seem pretty much on the same level, but I'd give the edge to Jungyeon tbh. Nayeon does well with stuff in her range. She has a unique color to her voice that sounds really good with Twice's music. I think Jungyeon's strong voice is nice too, and she absolutely needs more lines. She always gets one of the lines Nayeon and Jihyo sing earlier in the title songs, so we know she can do it. It's just a matter of JYPE letting her slay like she's supposed to. I love JIhyo's voice! She's not an amazing vocalist, but she's pretty good. I think Twice's earlier music was just way too high for her and Nayeon though. Thank god she got to show more off with TT, which cooled it on the hard to reach range. So yeah, thats what I think. Great video by the way! It was edited so well
This is a very good list! It's very honest and NOT biased at all but the only change I would make is that Chaeyoung should go 1st 2nd or 3rd but I have no problem with where you put her it's just the reason I would put her in one of the places I said is that she can rap AMAZINGLY, sing beautifully, dance and her voice is so stable when she sings. I do 100% agree with when you said she needs more lines and in Twice she can't really show her talents and that is so true!

I agree with your list. I used to prefer Nayeon's vocal over Jeongyeon because her voice suits the songs better (probably the reason why JYP pushes most of the lines to her). But I never realised how Jeongyeon was this stable. She deserves 2nd place 😁. And God Jihyo knows how to use her voice the best we need to appreciate her more😢
There is just one inaccurate thing about this video... The fact that Dahyun is not credited for her piano skills but Chaeng is :P I mean my bias is Chaeng (obviously) and she does play a little but why credit her and not our tofu ;-; Anyways, a list I actually agree on, good job!

For me 1.) Jihyo: She's unstable but her singing voice is actually okay, best in TWICE but still needs improvement. (Main Vocal, Leader) 2.) Nayeon: Her voice is soft and strong at the same time, can do high notes but is actually quite stable (Lead Vocal, Face of The Group) 3.) Jungyeon: She is the most stable for me but her voice at times shears when she sings too loud (Lead Vocal) 4.5.) Mina: Her voice is soft but is loud enough to be caught by the mic that's why for me her voice is unique, she has a high note register and is actually quite stable (Lead Dancer, Lead/Sub-Vocal) 4.5.) i think Jeongyeon doesn't have too much lines because her voices is sassy and Twice have a cute concept. The sassy voices are perfect for the baddas or sexy concept not for the cute concept.

Mina (stable, good at falsettos and have a soft calming voice, its unique) 5. Chaeyoung (stable, and have a nice voice) 6 .Tzuyu (nice tone but seems a little bit bland but she is improving) 7. Sana (some people really treat her as a part of vocal line but i think she isnt, she have a sweet voice but sometimes her voice seems off(?) ) 8. YESSSSSS I'm so happy you prefer Jeongyeon's voice more than nayeon's they're both lead vocalists and I wish she could get more lines, same with chaeyoung... the only thing I don't agree on is jihyo being unstable at times. I never hear it, she is like one of the best vocals I know. And question: I know dahyun helped make the choreography for touchdown, but what other song did she do?

Besides that, Jungyeon has more power and stability (due to her lack of lines)

for me: 8. Momo: She's starter, if she had more time to learn and improve she would be better. I can see her improvement since the debut, this way she'll be a nice vocalist. 7. Sana: They force her to sing with a childish voice, but when she could sing with her own voice, we could see that she has a potential. Still lots to improve, just like Momo. 6. Dahyun (my bias): I think she's more stable than Sana and she's able to rap. 5.Tzuyu: A bit more stable than Mina, but inconstant. 5. She's my bias and I don't think enough people acknowledge that she's the visual (99% of people know that she's the visual, but there's also the occasional debate that surfaces from people who say Nayeon is the visual because that's what Twice said before) More importantly though, thanks for listing her as lead dancer. I always thought she was the third dancer cause she's really good and I think a lot of people tend to discount her skills when she has a lot of talent and she's constantly improving. The rest of the video was really well done also. Great job 😝

KL Entertainment Being in vocal line doesn't determine how good of a vocalist you are. Mina sings with a raised layrnx, does not lift her soft palate, and sings with no support which is why her voice is shaky even when standing still.

VERY persuasive indeed. they're mostly interchangeable though, since their voices match different concepts. but if i can lump some members into the same level, it'll be momo-dahyun, sana-tzuyu, and nayeon-jeongyeon.. i agree with chaeyoung & jihyo. and i can't comment anything on mina because.. yeah.
I think Tzuyu has some serious potential and is not given enough lines. She is not as nasally as the other members (that were below her in this ranking, and even Mina) so if she learns to utilize her support more, I could seriously see her belting in the future. Also I don’t like some of Mina’s notes but her head voice is gorgeous, her transitions from chest-head are so smooth as well. Lastly, Jeongyeon’s pitch is great and she could really go places if she trains a little more in her technique. Also has the most potential for strong belts besides Tzuyu. Just remember that stability = stamina and not technique. Besides that, this is a great video! And my girl Jihyo totally deserves first place, I just wish they wouldn’t give her so many notes out of her range as she strains at times.

Real Onces doesn't bash any member of twice. This is my very first time being disappointed in the fandom. I really prefer Jeongyeon's voice over Nayeon's. Nayeon has too much lines thus making her unstable at times. Jeongyeon and Chaeyoung/Mina should really get some of Jihyo/Nayeon's lines to even things out. But knowing JYP, I doubt he'll make it happen🙁

I think Mina is going to improve so much better in the future. I have my faith for her, she's only has 1 year training, the least training time in Twice but she is doing quite good till now :) Mina hwaiting 😉
You know with all the flack Twice gets, after watching a lot of their videos like MR Removed, I can honestly say they are all slowly but surely improving. However, the only thing I would still say is flat out bad about the whole group is Momo's live vocals. She is SO BAD. They need to let her rap, you have two lead vocalists then you can have two lead rappers, or just have her dance around and look pretty. I like the squeaky kiddie tone but honestly her not singing wouldn't be that big of a loss if THAT'S how she sounds live.
It's weird because during Sixteen, I never thought Momo would sound like this. Her squeaky tone can be nice, but I prefer her deeper voice. I also think she's a much better rapper than she is a singer, so JYPE needs to give her and Dahyun some more rap training ASAP

I agree with pretty much everything, but I never think of their voices as "annoying or aggravating." And the rank is pretty much spot on for me, but I usually list them in a more broad manner:
1. Jihyo, Jungyeon, Nayeon (best)
2. Mina, Chaeyoung, maybe Tzuyu, not quite Sana (second best)
3. Sana and Tzuyu (not quite second best, but not the worst)
4. Momo and Dahyun (the worst, but not "awful." Clearly need work, but slowly improving.
The problem is that Chaeyoung and Dahyun are the face of Twice's rap line, but Twice doesn't have impressive raps. They don't even have the chance to show their skill. And by they, I mostly mean Chaeyoung. She's clearly the best one. They need to stop with vocalist Momo and direct her towards rap, or at least a balance of the two. I would say her rap is more impressive than Dahyun, who gets caught up on words and can sound frantic at times. So yeah, push Dahyun and Momo to improve their rapping, and let Chaeyoung sing a line her and there.
Sana isn't the best vocalist in Twice, but she's better than Momo and Dahyun. She's getting better, but there's still a ton of room for improvement. I don't even know if I would say she's as good as Tzuyu, but for the most part, they're on the same level. Tzuyu does have the edge in stability, but as you said, her tone isn't always interesting. I like her voice though.
Mina is pretty much a lead vocal at this point. She gets a ton of lines, and honestly she deserves it. She has a long way to go (especially in terms of projecting her voice), but she's doing well. Her soft voice works well in contrast to the 3 actual leads, who have more punch. Chaeyoung has always been good, no surprise. I wouldn't mind if in their next song, Chaeyoung and Momo switched places. Vocalist Chaeyoung? Rapping Momo? Yes please.
Nayeon and Jungyeon seem pretty much on the same level, but I'd give the edge to Jungyeon tbh. Nayeon does well with stuff in her range. She has a unique color to her voice that sounds really good with Twice's music. I think Jungyeon's strong voice is nice too, and she absolutely needs more lines. She always gets one of the lines Nayeon and Jihyo sing earlier in the title songs, so we know she can do it. It's just a matter of JYPE letting her slay like she's supposed to.
I love JIhyo's voice! She's not an amazing vocalist, but she's pretty good. I think Twice's earlier music was just way too high for her and Nayeon though. Thank god she got to show more off with TT, which cooled it on the hard to reach range.

This is a very good list! It's very honest and NOT biased at all but the only change I would make is that Chaeyoung should go 1st 2nd or 3rd but I have no problem with where you put her it's just the reason I would put her in one of the places I said is that she can rap AMAZINGLY, sing beautifully, dance and her voice is so stable when she sings. I do 100% agree with when you said she needs more lines and in Twice she can't really show her talents and that is so true!

8. Momo: She's starter, if she had more time to learn and improve she would be better. I can see her improvement since the debut, this way she'll be a nice vocalist.

6. Dahyun (my bias): I think she's more stable than Sana and she's able to rap.

She's my bias and I don't think enough people acknowledge that she's the visual (99% of people know that she's the visual, but there's also the occasional debate that surfaces from people who say Nayeon is the visual because that's what Twice said before) More importantly though, thanks for listing her as lead dancer. I always thought she was the third dancer cause she's really good and I think a lot of people tend to discount her skills when she has a lot of talent and she's constantly improving. I think Tzuyu has some serious potential and is not given enough lines. She is not as nasally as the other members (that were below her in this ranking, and even Mina) so if she learns to utilize her support more, I could seriously see her belting in the future. Also I don’t like some of Mina’s notes but her head voice is gorgeous, her transitions from chest-head are so smooth as well. Lastly, Jeongyeon’s pitch is great and she could really go places if she trains a little more in her technique. Also has the most potential for strong belts besides Tzuyu. Just remember that stability = stamina and not technique. Besides that, this is a great video! And my girl Jihyo totally deserves first place, I just wish they wouldn’t give her so many notes out of her range as she strains at times.

seriusly is that jungyeon high note?! omg..this is the first time i heard her long high note..
1. Jihyo (my bias💕)
2. Nayeon (her voice really suits Twice song's that is why she is literally in majority of their choruses and she's good with high notes. She can belt but obviously not better than Jihyo and less stable and not that high either examples are in Sixteen)
3. Jeongyeon (I FUCKING LOVE HER VOICE and I love when she's in the chorus like in Woohoo and Ready to Talk. She can belt but it seems strained in One in a Million but damn I love her voice)
4. Chaeyoung (this used to be Mina's spot but after I saw Chaeyoung's melody it changed. Such a sweet voice)
5. Mina (sweet voice and her soft voice cute small high notes)
6. Tzuyu (don't know why she sings slower then the track live but okay she's improved)
7. Sana (been the same since Sixteen really and her singing really gives off that Japanese vibe obviously since she's from Japan😂 cute Japanese singing voice)
8. Momo (don't know what the fuck happened after Sixteen cause I loved her voice when she sung The Way You love me with Chaeyoung and Jiwon. She definitely has a lower voice and I've seen pre-debut videos of her dancing and singing and she has such a nice voice but in Twice it's so high pitched and kind of annoying)
9. Dahyun (she's really not stable and she has a talking singing type voice tbh and it's been like that since Sixteen but that little part before she sings neomuhae neomuhae she's good)

Real Onces doesn't bash any member of twice. This is my very first time being disappointed in the fandom. I really prefer Jeongyeon's voice over Nayeon's. Nayeon has too much lines thus making her unstable at times. Jeongyeon and Chaeyoung/Mina should really get some of Jihyo/Nayeon's lines to even things out. But knowing JYP, I doubt he'll make it happen🙁

You know with all the flack Twice gets, after watching a lot of their videos like MR Removed, I can honestly say they are all slowly but surely improving. However, the only thing I would still say is flat out bad about the whole group is Momo's live vocals. She is SO BAD. They need to let her rap, you have two lead vocalists then you can have two lead rappers, or just have her dance around and look pretty. I like the squeaky kiddie tone but honestly her not singing wouldn't be that big of a loss if THAT'S how she sounds live.
It's weird because during Sixteen, I never thought Momo would sound like this. Her squeaky tone can be nice, but I prefer her deeper voice. I also think she's a much better rapper than she is a singer, so JYPE needs to give her and Dahyun some more rap training ASAP
She wasn't even that bad during sixteen with her deeper voice. I think they just need to stop telling her to sing cutely.
Momo's voice is like that because of their cute concept.

I tend to never watch these videos because I get easily irritated (bad trait of mine, I know lmao) but all your little descriptions I actually agreed with! I could never find the words, but Momo's aggravating voice, Dahyun's overall decent tone as a preference, Tzuyu's bland one, Nayeon's tone being a fav, I found myself nodding along tbh.
