Hi Mcclurep, I don't think there are any open strings in the main riff, so I can see why you couldn't move the entire riff down the fretboard to lower the key. Other when is to tune down a whole tone. Good luck with the song.

Excellent ... thank you for this! I'm trying to find how to play the bridge part of "Land of Confusion" by Genesis, but the limited number of tabs that are out there covering this part don't seem to be correct to my ears. Would love to see a Skype Guitar Lesson for that one :) Thanks and keep up the great videos!
I think TH-cam slows down videos to coerce people into signing up for a premium account. Video seemed good if I could have watched it without freezing.
Hi Derek glad you liked the video lesson, always was a favorite Genesis track from the more modern era. The sound was created from my Eleven rack. Using a clean amp based round the Matchless DC-30 with the Bass slightly rolled of. I didnt actually use a chorus as it got to over saturated so i just used my Digital Dynamic delay settings Delay 435 ms Feedback 50% Mix 20% Hope this helps, Don't forget to subscribe if you haven't done already new videos are being uploaded every week.
I'm certainly no expert but I feel like your explanation of the notes your playing *might* accidentally skip over a note (maybe a double stop) on the G strings at the 8th fret. You can see/hear it at 4:55. When you play the passage it sounds different than how it is explained. Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong - I'm just learning.
