I bought a well used 459 that'd seen it's share of service. Only loads it won't digest were some sub sonic loads I shoot out of a revolver. Other than that it always fired and ejected spent cases. But after I cleaned it, it was always a pain to reassemble. Then I noticed it had a broken ejector.
Thanks for your efforts, without this video, it made the repair go well.

It's still scary to play in this area, thought about it, contacted S&W, send it home, no problem, free, rma, some friends said no supporT, wrong. sept 2024, thanks S&W.

Nice job, great advise on sear relationship angles. It took me years to understand that, and a few ruined sears and hammers.

RESPONSE TO mikeyeyes7: I do not use polish with the sandpaper but I do use a light oil or "honing" oil like you would use with a sharpening stone. You have to use a oil in order to suspend the metal particles and keep the sandpaper from getting clogged.
That polish wheel that I use to polish the feed ramp of the barrel is from Brownells. The other polish wheels are made by dremel.

I do not understand why, if my firearm shoots constistantly accuractly, I need to alter it.

Q: You didn't polish the rails on the slide and didn't polish the small notch/ledge on the trigger that catches the sear?

Does the magazine release button have an adjustment or is it just turned all the way down?

Great video series. I was wondering if you have thought of making a video on bead blasting the stainless Smith 3rd gen autos. My 06 needs it badly.

@Bluebelly2 Did u use polish in the sand paper when u did the Barrel ramp n Hood? Also I been looking everywhere with no luck Where can I find the Polish wheel that u used in the barrel?

Except for my nickel-plated Beretta Cheetah, all my pistols are cerakoted or a similar finish. But I will definitely tune the barrel feed ramps in this manner. I can see it making a big difference. Great videos!

Why did you polish the top of the frame but not the bottom of the slide? Wouldn't it be better to do both? Thank you

I carried a 5903 as my duty weapon and I never had a problem with it. Not sure working on it the way you have done is practically required on a duty gun, maybe for a civilian target shooter who wants a "glitter gun".

That is a long firing pin. Odd.

You have to push it forward (so that it extends well into the chamber) and lock it using the firing pin safety plunger in order to get the safety lever out of the slide.

Anyone know where I can get a new barrel for a 3913 TSW in 2017?
