    i spotted the strap fasteners tied to the camera on a previous video and said to myself "hes got a peak design strap" i use them Hahnel remote triggers as well they are great, i bought the Hahnel caprure pro it comes with a range of sensors for remotely firing the camera, like an IR motion sensor for night triggering, normal motion triggering, sound triggering and an array of others like laser beam breaking etc. really fantastic kit

    Now there speaks a man of wisdom! You are the first vlogger to carry with him the most important piece of kit for nature photography...BOG ROLL!!!! Absolutely essential, especially for you given your propensity to munch on fig rolls. 😁😁. You only need to get caught once to ensure it's the first item packed in the bag.
    Very comprehensive kit list and I would fully endorse the camo gear and even more so the 'comfort' gear. Good clothing and footwear is high on my list.
    👍

    • @simoneardley

      Haha, its a fact of life Robert. Nothing worse than getting caught out mate. As far as kit goes i hate it if i haven't got something i need, i really can mess your day up. Definitely comfort is a major consideration when out in the field, if youre warm and dry it definitely makes for better results!!

    Just one little tip for you Simon regarding the camera strap, put one of the holding points on the lens collar, putting all the wieght on the camera could be a bit much, plus it sits better when you have it round over your shoulder.

    Brilliant video with lots of great ideas and tips for cheap bits and pieces. I also have a D500 and think it is the best camera I have had. I currently use a Tamron 18-400 (which equates to 600mm on the D500) which I consider to be an excellent lens but I have been considering something bigger such as the 150-600. Having listened to your comments about the Sigma version I think that is the road I shall go down.

    Hi simon. I have been thinking about getting into nature and wildlife photography for a while now, and after finding your channel you really inspired me. As of now I dont own any real camera equipment, and Im finding it incredibly difficult figuring out which brand, body and lens to get. That being said I have been looking a lot at Nikons D7200 /7500 and the D500 bodies, and maybe pairing them with a Nikon 200-500mm f5.6 or the Tamron 150-600mm G2. Other than that Im hoping that you or some of the other awesome people here could give me some pointers / advice from their own personal expierence with the equipment they use and can recommend.

    • @simoneardley
      @simoneardley 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Falken, great that youre thinking of getting into this pastime. The D7200 is a great camera, I had it before the D500 and couldn't fault it. I'm thinking of getting another as a spare body. As far as glass, I'd probably go for the Nikon 200-500 as its a great lens and dont forget you have the crop sensor so you'll get more reach than the 500mm. Check out MPB.com for some great used deals, I always use them and would recommend them. Good luck with your choice.

    • @Martin.W.F
      @Martin.W.F 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@simoneardley Just spent an hour scrolling through MPB, and the stuff you are able find is pretty amazing. I might just have to pick up a used D500 at those prices. Still a bit torn on the glass though. When watching a lot of video reviews I was pretty sold on the Nikon 200-500mm. But after reading more into both lenses the Tamron 150-600mm G2 with its weather sealing is very tempting aswell. As a first lens I do worry about the lack of weather sealing on the 200-500mm, although Im not 100% sure its justified. I have seen Tragopan selling some really nice looking lens coats for 135 euros, but I dont know how much weather resistance it adds.
