    The algorithm decided to drop this video on my recommended & I am glad it did. What you said about practice giving you insights that you simply cannot find in books or from people, and about how 'the journey is the skill' was new to me & made absolute sense. I like how you seem to bring your full authentic self to your videos. I hope you know that your thoughts have added value to another person's life today. Keep going, you are definitely going places. ❤

    This video is quite optimistic for me. I am 44 and I think in my "generation" we wouldnt be that insightful and humble at your age. I think smartphones and social media are damaging society but its also obvious that something so special and positive IS happening with young people.
    Best of lucks with your channel

    i work with software engineers, they like moving fast and breaking things, but that's the problem, breaking things. not understanding the fundamentals and when something breaks they don't know even where to start, they begin apply every fix they find on the internet and make the issue even worse.

    • @meltemorujova
      @meltemorujova  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      ha that’s an interesting perspective, i have a few software engineer friends(4) and that seems to a common issue. I think their systematic way of thinking makes problem solving approach a lot different to what other people do. I think their ways aren’t necessarily ineffective but definitely wouldn’t go about life in that trial-error-way all in

    I really appreciate your insight!! It might seem obvious since it’s an approach we’ve been recommended to take over and over and over during the course of our lives but I guess it’s a different story when you experience it for yourself. If I didn’t try and fail and succeed myself the advice would have just kept going over my head lmaoo

    Some constructive criticism; the rapid flashing text on the screen creates difficulty paying attention to your speech and video. It takes away from your quality of content.
    There are closed caption options for the hearing impaired, and it usually displays whole sentences or more, instead of individual words.
    Keep up the good work!

    Yeah, in art people want to immediately innovate on things they can't even do properly. In writing they want to discredit story structure without even knowing what it is, in music they ignore melody etc etc.

    The only way to be exceptional at something is through sacrifice. Otherwise everyone would be exceptional. And that sacrifice is whatever gets in the way of the utmost consistency in practicing, improving, showing up to and learning more about your chosen subject. You have to go to lengths that other casuals are willing to go to and that's harder than it sounds. And this will, by definition, not leave you much time to also be really good at much else - that's the other sacrifice. Being exceptional is not always worth it depending on your situation but if you do want to be, you HAVE TO be prepared to sacrifice comfort and an easy going 'balanced' lifestyle.

    • @meltemorujova
      @meltemorujova  2 วันที่ผ่านมา

      i dont think you are wrong, but having this perspective could be overwhelming. Our whole life is a sacrifice. Walking into a new door is inevitably leaving all of the other doors behind.
      From what i gather your take on exceptionality is taken in the context of other people, and that is a valid perspective to have. However, me personally, i think we ourselves are the only people we should be compared to. No one has lived the life that you have lived, and the only person you can outperform is youself in the past. If you keep pushing yourself out of your internal limitations on daily basis, i think that is the way of living an exceptional life.

    • @solaire7046
      @solaire7046 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@meltemorujova yes i would say that's a solid mindset you have, but the word 'exceptional' inherently has comparison to other things in its meaning. I mean exceptional doesn't mean anything if not in relation to something else that is less or more "exceptional".
      But yea we should do most things because WE like them and it makes US happy. But everyone, everyone cares 'somewhat' what others think and we all inevitably do things to impress others and it's not a bad thing, especially if we actually enjoy the thing too.
      So the main takeaway, and my view, is that do things because you enjoy them, but don't just stay in your comfort zone your whole life. You owe it to yourself to really do something special with your life that someone else couldn't necessarily have done. Something that made your 85 years on earth unique, meaningful, impactful. And THAT will only happen if you push yourself to your limits with a given hobby/skill/carreer.
