I watched this with my father when I was a teenager, we were lovers of science, space, and earth (I'm still), but for bad things between us, we don't have a relationship now and all that ended. This song breaks my heart every time, but I love it. It makes me feel like His little daughter again, being two nerds of life in his red Ford car moving and traveling, singing 80's songs around the messy life. This soundtrack represents all that and how hard I want my dad to return, but he never does. Still, I never lose hope.
I know how it is. We had to cut contact with my grandma on my dad's side because she was emotionally abusive and generally not a great person. I have nightmares about her and yet I want her to come back. To just be kind to us. We've all lost someone close to us, or will someday. That's just how life is. But, we can remember how it was nice.
