One of the questions I get asked the most is where is the ideal first backpacking trip. Most people will tell you it's either Central America or South East Asia.

@@OlliePotts How long were your SA and SEA trips, did they feel long enough, how long until you may have felt homesick, how long unitl you need to start taking breaks and getting into a routine?
How big of a difference in your experience is going from £40 a day to say, £90 a day? is it a huge change in your experience and comfort or more of a case of just less spending on alcohol and tours+activities?

Is it way harder to meet people in Central America than in SEA? Asking bc I've been to SEA and it was so easy to meet ppl since everybody is going out and traveling the same route. Cheers!

It's not hard but it's definitely more difficult than SE Asia IMO. Not something to stress about but you'll likely meet people on activities/trips than at bars like SE Asia
