The one arm drill is usually used to improve your balance and timing with the transitions of the swing such as the rolling of the wrists at the bottom of your swing when you contact the ball. It will also help coaches see what may be causing problems with your swing. The drill also strengthens your hands and forearms.

Do a challenge where you have to use the club that is the closest in degrees to your yardage. Ie: 20 yards = 3 hybrid.

I started golfing last year at 43 years old and I do a 1 arm hitting drill to keep my wrist and whole arm alignment correct it seems to help , I use it for putts also ;) great video we all love golf and your perspective is easy to apply to my own experiences

I have been playing golf my whole life. I have realized that you can’t mess up you form while using one arm and still hit a solid shot. If you have good form while using one are, then you will hit it solid.

Swinging with 1 arm helps improve your face to path.
Only if you're using your left arm as a right-handed player... they unfortunately did it the opposite way
The biggest thing is it forces you to take your arms out of it, you really can't "power" a club w/ one arm unless the kinetic chain is good. One of my favorite things to watch is John Daly hitting 1 handed bunker shots better than I hit them w/ 2 hands. I've seen him hit w/ both right and left but I can't find the clip of that th-cam.com/video/B-i56tuorhg/w-d-xo.html
My dad always had me warm up at the range one handed, each hand about 10 to 15 balls. It helps with club path. Makes your hands both independently get a feel for where the club path is. It really helped me. It also helped with strengthening your swing.

I don't like watching golf but you guys make it entertaining
the reason why some golf coaches make you shoot balls on the range with 1 arm is to find a balance between using both arms in your golf swing. If i was right handed and i was slicing the ball i am most likely using my right arm more than my left. By using my left arm a bit more it will go more straight. idk if this made sense it’s kinda hard to explain lol.
