We have to thank the Chesterfield Council in stepping in when BR left and the grants to have the roof replaced in preserving this shed. Also the volunteers at Barrowhil Roundhouse for looking after this building.
Good video, the turntable demo was interesting. I first went there about 2015 and it was really good. On visiting more recently I was disappointed. The roundhouse was half empty and there wasn't much outside. In 2015 both were full and in addition there were a couple of lines of stored drs 20s and 37s. East mids building their stabling point reduced the outdoors heritage element. I'd visit again if I was in the area but I wouldn't go out of my way.
I agree but it's probably down to lack of parts to maintain them sadly I loved the class 81s/85s in the 1980s at longsight T.m.d as a kid going sporting happy days of real railways! Good video 🥰
Another lovely video well done great camera work as usual I am really looking forward to seeing your next video I hope you get a nice video next time also when is your next video going to be on TH-cam bye for now Philip

Great place to visit. I was there last Saturday to see Tulyar start up and a look round. Thought you might have been there?
Holiday time mate - Glad you had a good day. 👍 Shame about Tulyar though. 😢
@@trainsplanes Ahh, my turn this week.

Love all your vids too, but would be really great if you could list the locos you've seen please! Most fans probably after some numbers too!
If you watch until the end of the video - It shows the loco listing on the roundhouse chalk board. 👍
