It’s competitive players and people like you why the game is a broken mess. EA is too busy trying to focusing on making the game more suitable for players like you instead of casual players. So if anything, this is probably a good thing and EA will actually focus on making the gameplay better.
Almost the opposite actually, they made button controls so all you have to do is hit the y button to do a Michigan move. People who never played the game could do insane moves while regular players who are used to skill stick controls had a disadvantaged. Why not use those stupid button controls? Why would I lower my skill by playing on a system that ea purposely made to accommodate new/causal players
Better game is must. And small teams for tournaments. Maybe 6v6 is too many people, but 3v3 could be interesting (few bots wouldn't hurt too much). And normal hockey, no HUT, Pond hockey or something crazy.
I've played NHL Religiously (mostly couch coop and HUT. Nhl 24 is easily the worst I think I've played in a really long time. How they are going backwards blows my mind (Gameplay) The hip-check mechanic 😅
Right you are, I have every game since 92 and this years game was trash. The load up time is ps3 like, endurance on cards in hut this year ruined the experience for free to play and ai is trash in any mode. Be a pro starting out in the mountains with your agent for 3 plus years in a row while having to read conversations is ludicrous!! But that card art keeps getting better just to entice kids to gamble with mom and dads money god knows what that will do to kids when they get older and have already experienced the dopamine influx from gambling because of ea and their greed!
Some company needs to make a hockey game focused on chel like mode without all the nhlpa bullshit and give the people who love to play with friends and build a team to play for championships or bragging rights!!! I would 100% buy a hockey game without nhl jerseys that is online only and your play dropins or clubs!!! I’m sure I’m not alone here!!

I dont understand why they dont utilize 6 vs 6 World of chel Style. Imagine the teams playing on stage. Its the only sports games where they can exploit that game mode
They need to make EASHL (World of Chel) the main competitive mode. The game of hockey as a whole is a TEAM sport. They should have 6v6 pro team brackets that faceoff against eachother like in MOBA world championships (look at how enjoyable it is to watch League of Legends tournaments) people will have favourite pro players to watch, there would be real world team chemistry and plays that need to be executed by multiple players at once like in real life, pro players can change pro teams simulating real world trades, etc. Watching one person control a whole team is just not enjoyable to watch IMO.
Honestly I feel like a 6v6 esports is just overall much more enjoyable to watch, less so call 'glitch goals' work on real players and just the skill gap to see which players are better then others in certain areas of the game like puck battles or game sense. For the future I say this has potential but they have to make the game just more balanced so not everyone is just gonna use the same loadout with gold elites edges cause its just plain out the most overused x factor (basically saying give people to reason to use the other x factors over the so called meta ones).

im old brother been playing since 92 over 30 plus years hockey an madden that that left right is original deke from 1st game thats all we had haha its been in every game since the 1st
its not pay to win. You can play alot to get almost just as good team as a guy who has spent hundreds of euros to the game. I'd say about 500h a year on hut and boom you got it
The first year or two of hut had a salary cap. It made the mode 100x more interesting. Once they removed that hut was about buying the highest stat players.
This game is completely dead. I can't even find a versus Match that's not 80 Ms ping. The servers are better for Chel and Hut but not Versus. I've been playing since NhL 94 and this is the worst this game has been since.
the game need to come back to simulation hockey game and a little less arcade. Remove the xfactors, the overly complicated builds and make everyone equal with a choice of player style already made

They had custom plays in NHL 2004 I think it was. They need to let us control where we want our cpu to go. Too often where my odd man rushes don't feel like an odd man rush because the AI skates in the corner, or they are coasting when they should skate hard for a back door tap in. So once they make this game better then I think the World Championships will gain more fans. Because from the few games I watched from the top players it's a lot of offensive ragging and I don't see how that's fun.

I gave up and started a be a pro playthrough. 10 games in it was clear that mode is completely broken too.
