Josh and I climbed Mount Carillon the day before Whitney. December 9th and 10th.
My favorite scene was about the 5:00 mark when you situated yourself to capture the climber coming up underneath you and then the pan around to the climber above you. Most people don't know how challenging it is to stop and get shots like this. Not being a mountaineer your video helps me understand the challenges of your route up Whitney. BTW, those shots of the ice water tunnels at the beginning were unreal. When I summited Whitney I used the non-mountaineering approach with all of that stair stepping switchback section. You lucked out with the weather again! Thanks for sharing.
Thank you my friend! I appreciate you taking the time to share your thoughts. I have never before or after seen anything like those frozen waterfall tubes. Our weather on Whitney in the winter was perfect and I'm not sure how unusual that might be.
It really helps to have ascended & descended this route before climbing the East Face route, so that you know the way down. Especially if fog moves in. Nice video. Thanks for sharing!

great video. thanks for not shooting this like most people do, when all you see is the rock that they are putting their hands on. this was nice because you slowly panned all around your position and we could all get a great feel for just how steep that chute is leading to the notch.

Good question! We attempted Russell but turned around when we were able to protect the exposed sections, so we settled for Carillion instead.

Hey Alexandru. Sorry I wasn't able to respond in time. If you haven't already made your trip, I suggest contacting the ranger station in Lone Pine for updates. They probably have a website too if you search for it.
