Whenever I need help with my candles, I find myself coming across your account. I wanted to start making candles but I wasn't quite sure where to start until I ran across your video when you was showing us the warehouse where you keep your product and step to step on how to make candles. You video has been my inspiration. So during this candle making process, you are my inspiration.
Thanks for clarifying, lots of people make it seem like you have to be Einstein to be able to make candles, blessings to you and again thank you, thank you thank you thank.
You are so welcome! People like to make it harder than it has to be, searching for the “perfect “ formula. If it smells good, and burns well it’s a winner. Period.
That amount is Amazing the price is that you've made in a year is unbelievable where were you selling them at congratulations baby I'm wishing you much success
Yes I find that to be the hardest part about making candles. It's why I kind of stopped for a while. I feel stuck on the calculations on how much fragrance to add to the wax. I can never seem to get it right. 😔
Thanks for the knowledge and inspiration to try to make my own candles instead of sending all this money on all these expensive brands. I will be following you now thanks!
Amazing video tysm!!! I'm trying to start my own small business selling wax melts I practiced today making a couple candles so I can test the scent and so on and I was melting the wax adding the dye then scent right away without realizing I needed to have my wax at a certain temperature before adding the fragrance LOL so now I have two giant candles that turned out beautifully but when I burn them there's no scent 😢. Definitely a new sub here ❤❤❤❤❤
You are welcome!! And listen that mistake will make it so it never happens again. 😝 but I’m sure it will be an amazing candle… I know I’m late but did you get it to work!?
Just last week I had an inspiration to start something magical and candle making came to my mind. I have been watching several videos on candle making and I can say you made it seems easy, I'd like to give it a shot after am able to get the materials especially the essential oil, thank you for sharing your knowledge with us ❤️❤️
That pouring temperature is important because it’s the time between the oil and the wax still binding together. And any experience candlemaker knows this. That’s why this is apart of the process.
Thank you for your input. I have made thousands of candles and poured them at different temps and always get the same results from this Formula. A great hot and cold throw. It may matter more for other waxes, but for this one this works for me. The I believe the most important temp in candle making is when you add the fragrance to the wax, combined with stirring slowly. This will allow the fragrance oil and wax to bind properly. There are many different views, when it comes to procedures in candle making. My goal is to reduce the number of things that candle makers stress about, and I just want people to know pouring at the “wrong temp” is not the end of the world.

Same here, I am a sahm trying to start a at home business and give me a great hobby to do at the house and make money for my family as well but mostly because I love candles
I absolutely LOVE your story!!! Your talent at making candles and your drive is ADMIRING!!! I do have a question for you! I sell crystals and have struggled to find packaging up to my standards. Would you please tell me where you get your labels and boxes and what other suggestions do you have?
I have a few questions. 1. do you use SCX wax? 2. you say in the video that the wax should be heated to 190 degrees and at 185 degrees you can add the fragrance oil. However, many manufacturers say that you should heat the wax to 150 degrees and add the fragrance oil at 140 degrees. Allegedly, the fragrance molecules then break down because otherwise it gets too hot. This is the case with SCX wax, for example. But with the 464 wax, the temperatures are not that high either. Could you please write something about this, because I would like to understand it and I am sure that you know what you are doing :-) I would really appreciate an answer.
Thank you for your questions. I have the details of the exact wax and other materials I use in the description. For this particular wax , 454 I have always heated it to 190, and just make sure to pour in the fragrance before it reaches below 185. the temp can drop quickly depending on your environment, and you don't want to miss that window. (I tend to find something to distract me) Most of the waxes I've used need to be heated higher for the wax and fragrance to combine, 150 is way to low for this wax. I've learned to use what I read as a guide, and tweak based upon other things I've learned and trial and error. My ways may not always be what everyone else is doing, but they are what work for me. I'm never afraid to question the norm, or ask questions like you did. This is how we grow! Thanks again.
Great video, I make wax melts, I see in the description you stated to use a certain kind of wax, I typically use pillar wax, any suggestions for using this wax as far as amount of fragrance oil and I guess using pillar wax versus your recipe??
This wax would be too soft for a pillar candle. Typically a soy wax blend with paraffin would be used. Or even a beeswax. I heard Candle Science has an Eco Soya Pillar wax that is good. As for the fragrance oil, the measurement is about the same.
Hi. I love your video ! question how much scented oil do you put in ?? I have be trying to make candles for a few weeks now im just learn to get everything from candle science
Thank you for the video you are an inspiration. I was wondering if you would suggest a good wick for my 10oz candles I find that the ECO 6 is not working it seems too hot , is there a particular one that you suggest so that I get a good HT?
My biggest issue has been choosing the right wick 😢. That black soot ball forms. I’ve tried wooden wicks and they look and sound pretty but I prefer regular cotton wicks. It’s actually been discouraging because I’ve tried multiple different types. What is your recommendation?
That ball is called mushrooming. It’s happens with most wicks to some extent. if it’s bad your wick might be sized too large and you need to wick down. Lx wicks are know to be self trimming. I’ve never used them so I can’t speak from experience.
I would love to try one of your candles . Also my only headache is finding the wick size how do you find yours or do you use the guides from other sites?

I have one more question. Do you allow this wax the full 14 day cure time before conducting a burn test and shipping to customers ? Or are you a rebel and break that rule?

Thank you ☺️ very helpful and thoughtful to share this knowledge. 🕯️
So if my math is mathing…the fragrance load is abt 10-11%? I have so many jars here…def gonna test this in the frosted jars.
You are correct. It’s about 1oz of fragrance to 8oz of wax, give or take. Upon testing if you can use less go for it and save some money!! 😝
How often do you test your candles? What size containers were the single wick ones? Where do you get your wick stickers and are the small ones
Question: How do you know the wax weight for each individual candle without weighing the wax you're pouring into the vessel?
