The old wendigo is way more creepy to me. Also, the "don't move" sensor movement seems easier since it apparently gives you a bit chance even if it turns red for a while. In PS4, even if you don't move, you die, especially in Sam's part 😂
Idk, for me old wendigo sounds more distinct and scary with a high pitched scream that sends shivers down your spine when you hear them. New wendigos sound like they need a cough drop.
I honestly think that the remake was good but they should’ve use the original sounds and music from the original game. I mean i hear the new wendigo scream i don’t get frighten but when you hear the old one you get a sort of chill down your spin, the new sound kinda “sounds” generic. Also they should’ve lowered the music on some of the areas and in others highering it up a bit, meaning that the ambience should be heard much more.
You really have to play it for yiurself to make a proper judgement. I played them one after the other and the remake is a much better experience. Lighting is a lot better and facial animations are improved among other things
@@agent2ez its the better experience. You get the extended cut, longer prologue. Better sound quality, much better cinematography and better graphics. BUT I would 100% wait for a sale. It’s still the same game at the end of the day. I got it for 50% off for like $30 from someone on marketplace. And I say that’s what it’s worth, about $30-40. It will probably be on sale in a couple of months and you can get the game secondhand for cheap already.
@@agent2ez i agree with what OP said. i’ve loved the original game since it first came out since 2015 and it still holds up very well today. however the remake looks really good as well and was refreshing to see along with the new content and third person camera to see more of the world. my only complaints so far with the remake are sometimes the mouths of the characters don’t move when they speak during some cutscenes but ballistic moon is aware of these types of bugs and has plans to patch them. my second complaint would be the soundtrack and sound effects are wayyy better in the original but that’s just my opinion and could come from bias. i overall think it’s a good remake to pick up and play but you should wait for a sale if you’re not in a rush to play it right now. im a hardcore fan of the game so i had to snag it day 1 as it’s my favorite horror game.
@@niekgrijzenhout5011 didn’t that replace the ps2 camera angles with third person? I think kind of takes away the original intention of how the game is supposed to be played. Also the cinematography seems arguably worse from what I’ve seen. I remember a comment mentioning the original is based off 80/90s horror slasher filming, but the remake threw it completely out the window
@@Jeremiah-h4u ive never been a fan of the static camera. Characters are really clunky to control in the original, very disorienting and you dont get to see as much of the environment. Its mostly third person now, but there are static camera shots every once in a while. The cinematography is very similar but a lot of shots are framed a little better. It feels way more cinematic. Im also a big fan of the new 2:39:1 aspect ratio. Feels much more cinematic than 16:9 and you get way more sense of the space and environment. The graphics and style were 100% influenced by Supermassives game The Quarry. So if you like the Quarry’s style, you will like the style of the remake.
@@Kenjjoogames don't need to be realistic. A lot of shots of the original version just look more beautiful and cinematic because developers definitely worked on lighting and graphics from an aesthetic point of view.
@@DimasterUp Never said that games need to be realistic. I pointed out that the Remake is going for realism and that people saying that the old version looked better/more realistic is just not true.
When you hear those sounds coming out of some quality speakers loud AF you’ll thank Ballistic Moon for cleaning up the sounds, the original sounds distorted AF
@@tjhill8093 you have cosmically poor timing as I had a checkup just last week and I’m still 2020. Borrowed my sister’s copy and yeah it doesn’t look better. I think the old music and sounds were much better. Improvements in the renewed graphics are successful.

The only thing that the remake has over the original is the graphics. Not a whole lot else.

New endings and content
Even that is up for debate
I much prefer the old wendigo sounds and the old music.
The old wendigo sounds are better
New wendigo look with the old wendigo sound would've been dope! Overall, the game looks and sounds amazing! Can't wait to play it.

PS4 Version >
I wish the remake added a scene that showed Hannah's wendigo transformation. That would have been body horror gold in my opinion.
Thats some weird fetish you have.
Wish they would of kept the blue or at least made the blue a little more gray instead of just gray

What is this game it's scary force for people which play this at 3 a.m!!👻😱
Until Dawn, the original is $20.00. But it’s only on PS4 and PS5.
The Remake is $60.00 and is on PC and PS5. On PC, it’s $70.00 tho.
