    Can we just talk for a second about the absolutely masterful editing and memeing done by Noxxi here? Impeccable. Flawless.

    Thank you Mukluk and Noxxi, I'm having a pretty bad day, this helped getting things off my mind and got a laugh out of me, really thanks, I never really understood how random videos on the internet could help people feel a little bit better on bad days, but now I know. Rly thx :)

    I don't think I ever got the Talk as a kid, I think I just learned from my peers and then got some stuff clarified when I found my father's magazine collection. 🤣

      I found a mag or 2, then a book with no pictures just stories, then a full on VHS, and then I got the internet, and never needed a talk.

    Reminds me of something when I was in elementary school. There was a girl that was a little more troublesome. On one day on the way home after shool she called me a "son of a b***". I have no idea how it came to that but also I wasn't really upset because I didn't know the meaning, I just heard that for the first time.
    The next day, I somehow was in the mood to use that newly learned term. There was another boy in class, also a bit more of a problematic kind, and stupid me just called him a "son of a b***" in the locker room prior to the gym class, for no reason. It did not have any consequences at that exact moment, but during the next break he and two of his friends beat me up on the schoolyard.
    Way later I also learned that that boy was adopted and his bio mom was an alcoholic or something, so I guess what I said was even more problematic.

    Calling the definition of "suck it" a DLC pretty much sums up the concept of DLC in the gaming industry as well in some cases.

    My mom just bought a s*x ed book for kids/teens when I was in 6th or 7th grade and told me to come talk to her if I had any questions - I didn't. And that was that.

    This is why you should always have a disciplinary golem at your home, our MKVIII model comes with all the "dlc" information and is able to convey it to your progeny with minimal mental and/or physical trauma.
    *Disciplinary Golem inc. And its subsidiaries are not responsible for any negative effect or mishandling of the golems, please ensure your progeny is capable of surv... enduring the disciplinary sessions, consult a doctor (preferably an Asuran one) before purchasing one of our golems, no Norns were harmed during the production of the Disciplinary Golem MK. VIII, there were harmed during the previous models testing phases but the stress test data was ported to the MK. VIII frame.

    Since the characters in A Christmas Story were nine years old, in Indiana, during the 1939/40 school year, and also considering the hilarious soap incident contained there in, today's American parents are woefully behind (years with an "s"!) on discussing course language, reproduction and intimacy with their children, so there's that. I have only one thing to add, and that's, "Nadafinga!" - Darren McGavin as Mr. Parker 🤦🏽‍♂🙄

    To make sure I understood everything correctly.
    A pre-teen child was traumatized by his parent giving him the adult DLC (expansion package down-low-doable content) talk. So, this parent completely bypassed the teen puberty-stricten DLC talk?
    I can see where that would be traumatizing.

  • @lordgrey5223

    That was a pretty common insult in my school growing up around that age. Also, ironically, calling someone gay.

  • @Fynlanis
    @Fynlanis 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    I don't k ow how it is for others. But I have safely and soundly banished the memory of getting the talk from my parents out of my memory (which is usually very good when it comes to childhood) I know it must have been around age 10-11. Because I first learned about the topic from a friend who was 1 year older when I was 9 or 10.
    I was so sure they never had that talk with me in that regard. They recently told me they definitely did.
    I must have completely sealed it away.
    I hope this child does the same and believes his knowledge just came with age..

    I am so glad my school had sex ed when i was younger so it took off this responsibility from my parents because if i was only to have this information from them, i would still not know nothing about it. Also, sex ed in school is waaay less traumatizing than from your own parents. Poor kid, this PTSD will haunt him for a long time.

    • @RexxyRobin
      @RexxyRobin 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      In Germany we have a fairly popular kids magazine called Bravo. It mostly talks about music and fashion but also has ~4 pages of sex ed in each issue. Depending on the attitude of the parents, most kids start reading that when they are around 7 years old and I have to say that it seems to help.

    • @feothyr6810
      @feothyr6810 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      To be honest, I wouldn't call Bravo a kids magazine - gives the wrong impression :D It's clearly designed for teenagers.

    2:41 'for me, if you took to explaining _the birds and the bees_ to a kid like 'that'... _that's_ a DLC.' Muk did it again, ROTFLMAO
    kids reach that age so fast and parents are often taken by surprise. it seems however, for some cultural reasons, US parents have a way to make it extra complicated. the phone call between mother of kid #4 to mother of kid #2 is a prime example.

    You really had to have the talk with your kids? I mean, don't they have internet? We first got the internet when I was 8 and man, by the time I was 10, I knew all about the base game, about dozens of dlcs and even about some fanmade mods.

    Wait...why is it called birds and bees in English? In German it's something like bees and flowers (which makes sense) but I don't see the relation between bees and birds?
