I just got the Elstran version for $439 with a helmet, 2 spare tubes, and a lock from source bmx. Im excited to see how this bike rides first time ive had a freecoaster.
@@count111 It rides good. super solid bike. The only thing i might change on it are the bars to something like some 10" oddyssey bars just my preference though.
I'm thinking about getting this Elstrand version but the 2023 model. The White-ish one. I think its called mint something. I'm 5'9" and ride mostly street/park and consider myself lower mid level. I've looked at a lot of bikes and this one I keep coming back to.
Just bought the Elstran joint. I got the 2022 cause I didn’t want the white ‘23. I traded in a hybrid Felt for a couple hundred dollar discount. I feel good about the deal.
Just bought the copper drop. First BMX bike since I was 10. I'm 41 now. Want to explore more biking and goofing off at local skate park before my bones say 'no'!!! And have a bike I can go goof off for 30 minutes at a time. Getting too hard to get all spandex'd up and do long road or trail rides. Can't wait for it to show up and start working on some basics in the driveway.
I did something similar. Started riding again in November and turned 40 in June. Try to get to the skatepark 3-5 times a week, depending on how the body holds up after each ride. Helmet, kneepads, padded under-shorts. You know it!
@@kirkwickham3336 Nice! So let me tell you something that will be hard to believe. The day after the bike showed up a guy three houses down put out a quarter pipe and step set at the end of the driveway, wife drove by and said "go get it". I've been using the quarter pipe to after the dream of a solid fakie. Been a ton of fun, just to work on good balance and timing. Full body and brain work out. Would like to work on manuals more but that's going to take some more work I think. Rolling backwards is coming along this past month. But I hear you - it's been wrists and thumbs for me - have to pick the right moment to stop. Have fun old man!
i just picked up one of the last few elstrans in stock. your guides have been so helpful, i havent ridden in almost a decade. I used to ride eastern but, yeah
Who make a semi-pro level bike with a 20.25" to 20.5" top tube? Seems like all semi-pro level bikes like the Sunday EX comes with a 20.75" to 21" top tube. My son is around 5'4".
I would go up a level if you want a semi-pro bike and go with the Sunday Street Sweeper. Though the tt is 20.75 I believe. The Sunday EX is more mid-level. Another semi-pro complete would be a Kink Switch or Kink Cloud. Check those top tubes.
My son is 12 years old and about 5.1 or so. This is too big? He has raced bmx for 3 years but is more into the tricks and wants a park bike for playing. He likes jumping most. I want to get him the best bike possible and this probably isn't it. Thinking about Sunday, we the people, and kink. I know he will be growing at this age but don't want to get a bike that doesn't fit him. His coaches say 21" top tube but I guess that's too long for him?
Yeah, I’d look into something like the Verde Cadet, Verde AV they are the right size and light weight so he can control it easier. The Sunday Primer has a 20.00” option if he really likes Sunday. I’d recommend a 20.00” or 20.25” bike for him. You won’t find any high quality bikes in this size and may want to build a custom if you have the money. OR you can get the EX and buy a frame that’s the right size and replace it. Lots of people do this because the EX has good parts so swapping to a smaller frame gives you quality and the proper size
@@CapnCody1622 i recently bought the sunday street sweeper 20.75 but its way to twitchy and my hops felt uncomfortable so i swap the frame for a garrett reynolds fiend frame 21 inch.
@@cnrvns building your own bike is always the way to go man. But the streetsweeper is a beast majority of the bike is aftermarket but the 20.75 with the short backend wasn't working out for me.
I have watched this guy for a few weeks now to get some ideas of what bmx to buy and all he seems to do is complain about parts on the bike can he not do a review without complaining
What, you don't want to be warned? I like that he isn't an @$$ kissing brand fanboy. Look at his website and get the chart that gives in depth analysis. It's free.
Anyway, I do like any kind of feed back and I can definitely try to be more conscious about this. But there is a story behind this. My first 5 years of riding I went through 3 different bikes not counting after market parts that o put on there. The total price of those bike added together is over $1200. Had someone told me that those bikes wouldnt last me I could have put that money into a better complete or a custom saving me the injuries that came with a broken bmx bike. Brands are pretty shady about the true quality of their bike and they probably hate me but I don’t want anyone to go through what I did in my first 5 years of riding. 👎
It's not complaining. It's called being transparent and truth full. Why do you want a so-called "review" that is sponsored and not up front? As a consumer, I want the pros and cons to make a better informed decision. Not a "reviewer" that is bought and paid for by a company.
I think you're misunderstanding Doug's intentions. He's saving kids (and most likely their parents) money all over the world by directing them to the bike that suits them best. A bike store will sometimes try to sell you anything just to get rid of a particular piece of stock, Doug won't do that. If he says something is weak or may cause you issues, he's probably right in saying so and 9/10 times will offer you a solution in the way of another bike for a similar price.

How is it I just ordered the copper
Very good Idea &plays
My first bike was a 2012 fit aiken series one definitely buying a Sunday
What’s your overall pick for kink bikes, Sunday and every other brand can you make a video like this?
I’m 5’6 and just ordered the copper, should I cancel the order? If so what size should I get
I bought the forester because I need 20.5 and freecoaster
Been watching a lot of your videos. Very good thanks for the help on buying a bmx. Kevin
Glad to help!!

Im sold, gonna get that battleship grey
Gonna get the 2023 Elstran. Gotta have the freecoaster and full chromoly everything.
I’m 13 and 5/9 in height and I want to know which is the best bike I could get but I’m not understanding what your saying
What would the scoring be if I didn’t care about the free coaster?
I'm 5'5 with a 20.5" top tube but my bike still feels cramped for some reason

Take a look at Kink and Colony's range of completes would be my suggestion :)
I got the eric elstran thank you so much but it was way lighter then my 2014 fit bike trl thanks you so much
You’re welcome bro! Good choice!!
They have a nice selection. Thinking of changing my envy to a free coaster.... So much to think about.
Same! Have you seen/heard anything about their hybrid? Can't find them anywhere either...
Maybe consider a BSD Revolution? Get the effect you're looking for without all the slack.
ima get the erik elstran bc i ride street but ima add pegs and hubgards
Do u need a chain guard too?
I guess it’s just marketing and having options but Julian doesn’t even ride cassette… kinda weird
How long do the bike recommendations take for you to do cause I just sent one your way and I’m excited for you to see it

Are the Sunday Lightning rims double wall or single wall?
Single wall! But the sidewall is a little thicker than some single wall rims
Which is better Sunday ex or forester ?
Ex
Yeah Bmx isn’t dead 😃 I subscribed
I do ride bmx as well.
If you had to go with the 2022 Cult Devotion or the 2022 Sunday EX (Cassette), which would you go with?
I think the devotion is a little better quality for the price. But if you’re a smaller guy and the 21” Toptube is too big, go with the Sunday ex
