Yesterday was the beginning of Borno people's nightmare when
Alau dam collapsed, millions of cubic water released and kept them all awake to this moment with no respite in sight. This is a poorly managed Dam that the state claimed they spent N200m on maintenance last year but zero spent this year. Homes, farms, Zoo and even Prison are flooded as we speak. Animals from the zoo washed out to the streets and prisoners had to escape in a tragic prison break, including terrorists housed in there. Over 200 inmates escaped, including boko haram leaders.
