Sarah brightman is the original one and the whole muscial was written for her by her husband.
Sarah Brightman who was married to Andrew Lloyd Webber was the first 'Christine' in his musical 'Phantom of the Opera' alongside Michael Crawford.
Actually Antonio owns a theatre in Málaga. He produce and act in his favorite musicals.
He has also sung Evita (Musical) and In 2003, he successfully starred on Broadway in the musical Nine opposite Chita Rivera, for which he received a nomination for the Tony Award.
Sarah Brightman is the original Christine, in fact, Mr. Webber wrote this part for Sarah and her voice. BTW, Mr Webber and Mrs Brughtman were married at the time.
The Phantom of the Opera musical debuted in London in 1986. It has run without cease ever since. It's had a nearly 40 year run! There is a 25th Anniversary special on DVD/Blu-Ray and streaming and the motion picture of this musical was released in 2004. Both behind are wonderful. This show is also the only musical theater show to ever get a sequel which continues the story to its conclusion. It's called "Love Never Dies" and has equally wonderful music and just a wonderful and emotional story. The two together are epic! If you liked this song, consider watching the show. Sarah Brightman is the original Christine from the 1986 show. But the original Phantom was the great Michael Crawford. I saw this show in London 4 times with 2 different Phantoms and each was incredible. Antonio Banderas was in another musical movie version of a show by the man who wrote this (Andrew Lloyd Webber) and that musical was Evita. He started with Madonna who played the role of Evita Peron. Another great show with great music.

"The Phantom of the Opera" is one of the most famous musicals in the world. It is staged in many of the best theaters. Several films have been made. Gerard Butler sings in one, which also surprises many people. But not knowing that Antonio Banderas sings surprises me🤦♀️

This song is from the broadway musical of the same name. She starred in the musical when it premiered. Antonio Banderas, I believe, was in a later production of the musical

Sarah was the original Christine on London in 1986 and broadway 1988 …Antonio banderas wasn’t on the musical, he was there cause was the celebration birthday of Andrew Lloyd Webber, and he was on evita film with Madonna. On this concert performed singers and actors like Elaine Paige, placido domingo singing requiem mass with Sarah etc…
