Hi, I have a question. I have very tall Crepe Myrtles growing right along the entire South wall of my very small home outside, so they touch the house. Is it true that the South West corner energy is hindered by the Crepe Myrtles? I plan to cut them down if so. Thanks.
Hi Shari - This is a great question! So, there are two versions of Feng Shui, the Traditional version incorporates the Bagua based on directions. If you are using this version then the Earth would be the ruling element in that area. I practice the Western/Modern version of Feng Shui that places the Bagua based on the location of the front door. With this this in mind, which side of the house do the trees reside (right or left)? With this version of Feng Shui, the trees may very well be providing protection, safety, and comfort to your home. Also, Wood energy is very positive for growth and feeling rooted. Whether inside or outside our homes, we are always looking to create the arm chair effect, where you have support in the back of the house and on the sides. Also, cutting down big trees may feel like a lot of uprooted energy or it could create more flow. Depends on the situation and your intentions. Instead of cutting down the trees, would a simple trim be a good next step?
@@JenBoyd Hi, my front door faces East, the 3 Crepe Myrtles are all along the Prosperity, Fame and Marriage corner, ie the South East, South and South West. House is rectangle shaped, and they cover the whole South wall side. I can definitely trim them, I do so every year but they grow back very fast.

@@shariberry3123 Wood energy is very supportive for Prosperity and Fame on that back wall = Wood fuels Fire! So, I'd recommend leaving them!
