Thats heartbreaking man. There was soo much vehicle damage that weekend just to save a few grands worth of grass basically. Glad your ok though and hope your able to salvage the car.
Good on ya for tearing up the grass, I’d have done the same! All those wrecked cars just so circuit racers don’t have a sook. Now I bet TQ will re think those tire barriers, won’t be long till someone is seriously injured and there’s a lawsuit.
Problem with that is the clause, a mate shifted two vertebrae in his neck when one came through his windows, skid mark on his helmet but not a leg to stand on...
@@tokimotive depends how you argue it in court, contracts don’t provide immunity to negligence. And after seeing car after car crash, and multiple on board footage, one definitely has ground to stand on in court.
This is a fair point man, and honestly with the increase of evidence on film, photos, etc. I'm sure you're right, there's definitely gotta be more of a case there now
FYI nothing to do with Circuit Racers, we're partially in the same boat with having to keep it on the black stuff. They usually put cones and tyres on corner entries, apexes and exits so that we can't take an aggressive line and hit the dirt. I get why they don't want Dirt dropping, because of the drop off it creates on the track edge, but the truck tyre stacks are excessive and dangerous. They also seemed to have put them in really odd spots. QR needs to find another way.
Will be messy when someone gos head on into a tyre bundle and gets a tyre through the windcreen, race tracks are meant to be a safe place but drifting past telegraph poles seams just as safe, if track entry was free and they couldnt afford grass seed I could understand dangerous items on edge of the track to protect the grass but when there choosing to save a little bit of grass over a possible deadly crash you know theres issues
It’s not just the grass. It’s more about tearing up the track edges and digging holes that destroy other cars.

The damage dealt by the tyres far out weighs the protentional damage caused by going off a rough edge.
@@yeahnah6468 not 250 drifters as the majority managed to avoid the tyres just fine. Maybe you should try make it out to the track more often, the holes damage drift cars too. At the October matsuri there was a clean Holden Ute dropped into one of the holes outside 6 and smashed a rim. A large chunk of rim ended up in the middle of the track which the next car hit and killed a rim, tyre and rear quarter.
@@DavidCP524 couple of rims and a panel vs 20 cars ruined and medical vehicles out on track every hour.
I know which one I'd prefer.
Nothing to do with the 'grass' or circuit racers, QR has a pretty hard line stance on keeping it on the black stuff, as David has indicated cars going off track over the years has torn up the track edges and dug holes which can be quite damaging to cars. But the truck tyre stacks are incredibly dangerous and excessive and QR needs to find another way. They actually used to go around filling up the edge with gravel/ sand so it wasn't a harsh edge, but that no longer happens (talking like 15-20 years ago)

as a ex QR flag marshall. love drift cars since 2005 and love it. and i agree with you the tyre barriers need to go, unfortunately there needs to be more complaints for the officials do anything about it, which is something i dont like about the officials. other then that i love drifting cars.
